JOB DESCRIPTION PROPOSAL

COMMERCIAL MANAGER 

 Roles and responsibilities:

  • Examines company sourcing, sales rules and makes recommendations for necessary changes
  • Develops company’s commercial plan
  • Develops strategies to achieve company’s sales targets
  • Looks for opportunities to grow the business
  • Communicates sourcing approaches to relevant stakeholders
  • Manages contract development with suppliers and clients
  • Builds and maintains successful working relationships with suppliers
  • Conducts market intelligence
  • Analyses price fluctuation and provides interpretations
  • Conducts costs analysis
  • Provides recommendations on price fixation based on costing
  • Manages invoicingand recovery in collaboration with the finance department
  • Analyses sales and other reports that give insight into how a company can make adjustments to improve performance
  • Manages market intelligent
  • Resolves issues with contracts
  • Communicates with parties in a contract so that all understand the terms, particularly a contract’s financial aspects
  • Assesses risks and makes recommendations based on a thorough analysis of all factors involved in a business situation
  • Manages daily company commercial activities
  • Reports at monthly, quarterly and annually basis
  • Coaches employees on best practices for managing contract issues and handling daily issues and tasks
  • Supervises the team under his management
  • Assists the management team as a member of a cohesive team
  • Accepts extra duties as situations arise
  • Works efficiently and calmly tight deadlines or other stress factors arise

Qualifications and experience

The person must be a holder of a Master’s Degree in Business Administration or Master’s Degree in other business related studies such as Agri-business, Agro-economy, Commerce, Finance etc with  3  years of experience in  a  senior  management  position  and  two  years  working experience in the grains sector or a holder of a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or other business related studies such as Agri-business, Agro-economy, Commerce, Finance with 5 years’ experience in senior management post will also be eligible. Private  sector  experience  and  Knowledge/expertise  in  agriculture  trading value will  be  an  added advantage. Candidates with expertise and experience in grain sector trading.

Skills

A person with skills in Business administration, performance management, staffing, management  proficiency, coordination, coaching, developing  standards,  financial  planning  and  strategy,  process  improvement,  decision  making,  strategic planning, quality management. Finally with computer proficiency and languages proficiency (Kinyarwanda, English and French)




OPERATIONS MANAGER 

 Roles and responsibilities:

  • Develops commodities sourcing strategies and plan
  • Examines and improves company sourcing, quality control and warehouse management procedures
  • Oversees warehouses establishment
  • Supervises sourcing activities
  • Manages warehouse activities: commodity reception and delivery, as well as warehouse management
  • Supervises quality control
  • Supervises warehouse managers
  • Supervises team under his management
  • Manages equipment availed for operations activities
  • Provides timely, accurate and reliable business information
  • Tracks, analyzes and reports operations results
  • Oversees customer service delivery
  • Prospects and identifies new sourcing opportunities
  • Works cross-functionally with the management team
  • Works efficiently and calmly tight deadlines or other stress factors arise

 The person must be a holder of a Master’s Degree in Agronomy, Agri-business, Agro-economy or Master’s Degree in other business related studies such food sciences or business administration with  3  years of experience in  a  senior  management  position  and  two  years  working experience in the grains sector, particularly in quality control and warehouse management or a holder of a bachelor’s degree in Agri-business, Agro-economy or other related studies such as Business Administration with 5 year of experience on senior management position will also be eligible. Private  sector  experience  and  Knowledge/expertise  in  agriculture  value  chain  development  will  be  an  added advantage. Candidates with expertise and experience in grain sector sourcing and storage.

Skills:          

A person with skills in commodity sourcing management,warehouse management, food storage standards management, process improvement, decision making, strategic planning, quality management. Finally with computer proficiency and languages proficiency (Kinyarwanda, English and French)
