The United Nations World Food Programme is the world’s largest humanitarian agency fighting hunger worldwide. Every day, WFP works worldwide to ensure that no child goes to bed hungry and that the poorest and most vulnerable, particularly women and children, can access the nutritious food they need.


To coordinate and perform monitoring activities within a specific coverage area and provide reports to support the effective delivery of assistance packages.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)

Under the supervision of the Head of Field Office, the monitoring Assistant will be responsible for the following duties:

  1. Coordinate and monitor the implementation of the food assistance programme at the Field Office level, in close collaboration the implementing partners;
  2. I close coordination with logistics, monitor and review the overall commodity movements such as food delivaries, storage, transport and distribution at the site and verify in the amounts received have been properly recorded, damaged or suspected to be damaged;
  3. Supervise the efficient distribution of food at the site and ensure the proper distribution of food entitlements and verify appropriate entitlements are distributed and provide monitoring reports to the field office;
  4. Assist in the conduct of regular meetings of refugees leaders and implementing partners on the commodity pipeline, distribution arrangements, food entitlements and other relevant issues;
  5. Assist in the implementation of the plan of action, review and document the achievements, identify constraints and provide feedback accordingly;
  6. Report periodically to the WFP PRRO Programme Officer on relevant events regarding food management, distribution and other related issues;
  7. Identify any apparent issues in the programme and report them to the appropriate personnel;

  8. Supervise and trainfield partners’ personnel as appropriate;
  9. Perform any other related duties as required.

Education: University degree in the related functional area
Language: Fluency in both oral and written communication in English and/or French


• Has experience collecting programme output and outcome data, conducting quantitative and qualitative analyses, and reporting findings to management team, partners and other stakeholders.
• Has experience utilizing WFP monitoring and evaluation systems and standards.
