Business Analyst Lead | Geisinger


Scranton, Pennsylvania, Job Summary Primarily responsible for support of the Student Information System (SIS). Provides business specific knowledge in support of the Student Information Systems at the Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine (GCSOM) and the Geisinger Academy. Works with all offices in Geisinger Education to provide product analysis and support. Translates business specifications into functional requirements and actions.

Manages configuration tasks, works with IT on product upgrades, integrations, regulatory and accreditation requirements. Works on large and complex IT projects of varying size and scope including large enterprise wide projects. Works to correctly understand and accurately document workflow, processes, business rules, data, systems, and other business information required for a clear picture of the business. Coordinates the development, documentation, analysis and review of business requirements.

Job Duties Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates user needs to create systems solutions that support overall business strategies. Documents system requirements, defines scope and objectives, and creates system specifications that drive system development and implementation. Translates functional business specifications into clear and concise technical specifications for use by system developers and configuration specialists. Facilitates joint requirements planning and business requirements gathering sessions.

Works with project team and management to identify and document benefits, costs, and risks associated with solution alternatives. Create agenda and conduct meetings in an effective and efficient manner. Resolves and escalate issues in a timely fashion. Delivers full project objectives on time and within budget.

Performs translation of use case to user acceptance testing requirements and regression testing results. Coordinates testing with users and technical staff. Work is typically performed in an office environment. Accountable for satisfying all job specific obligations and complying with all organization policies and procedures.
