Team and Job PurposeTeam Purpose:The Security Team will ensure the delivery of the programs in a safe environment and ensure that all the mitigation measures are in place to reduce the exposure of the staff, beneficiaries and programs to any preventive risks and ensure the smooth operation of the organization, this will be achieved through conducting security risks assessments and analysis, drafting the needed SOPs and support in drafting the security plans for the team in Aleppo and provide the daily security support to the management and the team through contextual updates, awareness and advisories.
Role Purpose:As a member of the Safety and Security Team while working under the technical leadership of the SRO Security Director, you will be responsible for implementing SCI humanitarian plans, policies, and procedures that mitigate risk to staff, assets, programme operation, and reputation.
Principal Accountabilities• Abidance and enforcement of SCI security policies and SOP and SRO internal SOPs and protocols.• Povide security reports, trainings, awarness and advisories to the staff.• Liaison with government agencies and authorities including borders authorities once needed.• Security incidents reporting, management, investigations.• Safety trainings and material maintenance.• Compliance and Efficiency

Experience and SkillsEssential• Experience in the INGO security sectorAt least 2 years of experience in the field of INGO liaison work or a similar position, with Previous experience on liaising, acceptance and security within an INGO.
• Certified TrainingsTraining and certifications from accredited institutions such as IFRC, Red-R, ICRC, UN, etc. • Team WorkA commitment to working constructively with team members and a service oriented attitude.
• Flexibility Willingness and ability to dramatically change work practices and hours, and work with incoming surge teams.An ability to be flexible and demonstrate a high-level of interpersonal and cross-cultural skills including the ability to build collaborative relationships internally and externally with sensitivity to cultural, ethnic, social and political issues.
• Knowledge of SCI Work and Non -profit organisation values,Demonstrated knowledge of Save the Children’s work. An understanding of the complexity and values of non-profit organizations.
• Communication SkillsExcellent communication skills and experience with a diverse array of players, including external partners.Strong command English , Arabic and Kuridish spoken and written.
• Computer SkillsProficient on writing and using the computer (Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook email, internet). And extensive writing, translation and presentation skills.
Desirable• Experience with guard supervision • Formal train-the-trainer experience in defensive driving, first aid, and fire safety (including fire extinguishers).• Formal training in incident investigation and analysis.• Existing relationships with relevant stakeholders, including key INGO partners.
Education and QualificationsEssential
• Diploma or equivelient in the relative field • Minimum 2 years work experience in the humanitarian sector/with NGOs, with at least 2 years’ experience in partnership based programming or community based programming• A high level of written and spoken Arabic and Kurdish• A high level of English
Desirable
Professional Security certifications (e.g., retired security officers, police instructor) preferred
