MUGANGA SACCO is a Savings and Credit Cooperative for Health sector staff in Rwanda Headquartered in Kicukiro District (KK 15 Rd, Kigali Silverback Mall,1st Floor). Its primary objective is to improve members’ socio-economic conditions and promote access to finance, by assisting them to make savings and access low-rate loans, therefore contributing significantly to their retention. It is a legally registered SACCO by Rwanda Cooperative Agency (RCA) and licensed by the National Bank of Rwanda (BNR).
MUGANGA SACCO wishes to recruit the competent and self-driven staff on the position of Loan Analyst Officer on permanent basis regardless the gender, and other kind of discriminations.
1.RECRUITMENT DETAILS:
Position: Loan Analyst Officer
Number of needed staff: One (1)
Employment period: Open-ended period (Full-time)
Working place: Head quarter
2. JOB PURPOSE STATEMENT
Reporting to Credit Analyst Manager, the Loan analyst is responsible for assisting customers with the application process, reviewing applicant information, and calculating financial risk to determine whether or not to approve loans. Depending on the specialization, he/she may work on Salary advances loans, Overdraft loans, Emergency loans, Mortgages loans, Vehicle loans and Business loans.
3.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Gathering information about clients
- Reading financial briefings
- Assessing, analyzing and interpreting complicated financial information
- Undertaking risk analysis by developing statistical models
- Visiting clients
- Keeping company credit exposures within set risk bearing limits
- Completing loan application forms and submitting to loan committees for approval
- Using credit-scoring systems for small credit amounts (such as small unsecured
- personal loans)
- Keeping knowledge of key issues up-to-date (for example legal, market risk and compliance issues)
- Helping to enhance the quality of credit applications
- Making recommendations about procedural/policy changes.
4.SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
- Expert knowledge of banking regulations;
- Enough knowledge of banking products (Savings and Loans);
- Analyze and interpret financial data;
- Analyze and evaluate the risk associated;
- Strong planning and organizing skills;
- Knowledge of banking operations and procedures;
- Good communication skills both written and verbal;
- Well-developed interpersonal skills;
- Vast understanding of credit reporting requirements;
- Confidentiality;
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work well under pressure;
- Strong ethical behavior and the ability to work with sensitive financial information;
- Self-Management (Manages Time, Task Prioritization and Control) with minimum supervision.
5.KEY MEASURABLE GOALS
- Minimum errors in the analysis and interpretation of financial information
- Have current knowledge on key issues related to credits;
- Formulation of concrete recommendations for the amendment of procedures and policies;
- Number of loan files analyzed and size of the loan portfolio;
- Loan portfolio quality;
- TAT (Turn Around Time)
6.REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, finance, or in a similar field
- At least 3 years of experience in financial institution (BANK, MFI or SACCO) as loan officer or loan analyst (Proof of experience is required)
- To be between 25 and 35 years’ old (Copy of ID or Passport is required)
