McCall MacBain full funded scholarships for local and international students applications are now open for the 2024 cohort.
The McCall MacBain Scholarship is a full graduate scholarship that provides students with the mentorship, interdisciplinary learning, and global community they need to accelerate their impact on the world.
McCall MacBain Scholarships at McGill is situated on land which has long served as a site of meeting and exchange amongst Indigenous peoples, including the Haudenosaunee and Anishinabeg nations.
Up to 30 full scholarships and 100 entrance awards will be offered for Summer / Fall 2024 admission to master’s or professional studies at McGill.

The McCall MacBain Scholarships at McGill are Canada’s first comprehensive, leadership-driven scholarships for master’s and professional degree studies. Aim and Benefits of McCall MacBain Scholarships for Postgraduate
The McCall MacBain Scholarship covers tuition and fees for an eligible master’s program or a second-entry professional undergraduate program at McGill, a living stipend of $2,000 CAD per month during academic terms, a one-time relocation grant, and options for summer funding. Scholars also participate in a leadership development program, connect with mentors and advisors, and attend a breadth of workshops and talks.
Requirements for McCall MacBain Scholarships for Postgraduate Qualification
To be eligible, you must meet ONE of the following criteria:
- You are a current student on track to earn your first bachelor’s degree by August 2024
- You earned your first bachelor’s degree in the last five years
- You earned your first bachelor’s degree more than five years ago, and are 30 years or younger at any point in 2023
You will need to meet the minimum degree and language requirements for McGill master’s program admission. Contact McGill Graduate Admissions if you have questions about the university’s minimum requirements for admission.

Application Timeline
Apply for McCall MacBain Scholars: JUNE – SEPTEMBER 2023
- Make sure to apply early! The McCall MacBain Scholarship application is available online from June to August / September 2023 for Summer / Fall 2024 admission. It is separate from McGill admissions, and two reference forms are required. Find out more about the application.
Apply for McGill Programs: OCTOBER – DECEMBER 2023
- You’ll need to apply separately to eligible programs at McGill University. McGill admissions generally open in September for the following Fall semester. Apply by the program deadline, or in December at the latest, if selected as a scholarship finalist.
Attend Regional Interviews (invitation only): OCTOBER – DECEMBER 2023
- After an assessment of the written application, more than 250 Canadian and international semi-finalists will be invited to regional interviews. Your interviewers will be leaders who reflect varied disciplines and life experiences. See the interview dates.
Attend Final Interviews (invitation only): MARCH 2024
- Up to 85 finalists will be invited to final interviews in Montréal. Travel costs are covered for your participation in these interviews. Finalists are eligible to receive either the full scholarship or a finalist award.
Arrive on Campus: SEPTEMBER 2024
- Up to 30 McCall MacBain Scholars (20 Canadians, 10 international students) will begin their studies at McGill University in September 2024.
