Outreach Librarian at Rwanda Cultural Heritage Academy: (Deadline 11 March 2022)
Job description
1. Ensure the proper management of National library services,
Elaborate and disseminate the guidelines, policies, standards and procedures to ensure public organization and library management
Monitor compliance to library management policies, standards and procedures in all categories of libraries in Rwanda
Assess on a regular basis the library management status and advise appropriate strategies for improvement
Identify risks to library materials and offer recommendations for mitigating the risks and improving library materials management practices.
Provide technical support on library management in different categories of libraries in Rwanda.
2. Promote library services delivery in compliance with international standards,
Promote library services through tours, open days and exhibitions and strengthen service delivery to the population,
Sensitize the Rwandan citizens and authorities on the crucial role of the libraries in development of the country
Disseminate international standards tools for processing and accessing library materials;
Develop in collaboration with Marketing & Communication Specialist of the Inteko y’Umuco, the national blog of archivists, manage it and disseminate through the website.
3. Develop, implement and monitor capacity building plan for librarians and library managers across the country.
• Develop a capacity development plan in Library services
• Train librarians and library managers in library management and techniques.
• Monitor on professional skills and library services delivery
