- About Inades- Formation Rwanda
Inades- Formation Rwanda is a Non-Government Organization aiming a social economic development of Rwandans through agriculture and sustainable environmental management of local communities. Inades- Formation Rwanda has signed a Letter of Agreementwith FAO to support the ACP MEAS3 project activities on Capacity-Building Related to Multilateral Environmental Agreements in African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) countries-Phase 3.
At national level, currently the program is being implemented in six districts of Musanze, Rulindo, Nyabihu, Rubavu, Rwamagana and Kayonza.
- Purpose of the assignment
In the context of LoA with FAO under the ACP MEAs-3 project, under its output 2:Enhanced field implementation of measures for the conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity and the sound management of chemicals in agriculture, in ACP countries.Inades-Formation Rwanda wishes to recruit an agroecologist consultant to facilitate the development of agricultural extension training curriculum taking into accountagrobiodiversity and best farming practices
for sustainable conservation and use of biodiversity.The developed curriculum and training material, will be developed with the purpose“to build the capacity of agricultural extensionists and farmers on Agro ecological farming-based practicesthrough FFS approach
in the selected project sites”
The consultant will mainly focus but not limited to:

- Develop agricultural extension curriculum and training materials on the application of best Agro-biodiversity based practices through FFS approaches;
- Review various Agro-biodiversity conducted researches; existing national agricultural extension curriculum and other relevant Agro-ecological documents to identify the needs and gaps in the application of Agro-biodiversity and propose best Agro-biodiversity practices to be integrated in the curriculum;
- Translation of the developed curriculum and training materials into local language.
(From English to Kinyarwanda); - Facilitate consultative meeting and the validation workshop of the developed curriculum and training materials.
- Duration of the Assignment
The consultant is expected to complete his assignmentin 2 monthsfrom the date of signing
the contract with Inades – Formation Rwanda. This period includes the validation process
of the developed curriculum and training materials.- Required Education, Experience and competence
- Having a master’s degree in agroecology, environmental management, agronomy, research methodology with background in agriculture or other related field with at least 5years’ experiencein agroecology related work;.
- Having at least 5years’ experiencein curriculum and training manual development
- Having skills and knowledge on the ecosystem, crop production and FFS approaches;
- Excellent technical abilities forconsulting services in the most professional, effective and efficient manner;
- Fluency in written and spoken English and Kinyarwanda as well as excellent technical writing skills;
- High level of communication and interpersonal skills;
- Planning, organizational and time management skills;
- Knowing the region/ districts where the project is being implemented;
- Experience in working with local and international Non-government organization.
- Required documents to be submitted.
- Updated and detailed CurriculumVitae of the consultant or team to carry out
the Mention At least 3 references with their contacts and addresses.
(Show clearly roles and responsibility of staff, if it is a team); - Degree from a recognized university. (Each staff, if it is a team);
- At least 3 evidences of the consultant’s experience in a similar assignment: Copies
of similar assignments with evidence for satisfactory completion of these assignments; - A technical proposal with a description of the proposed methodology and a clear timeframe to accomplish the assignment;
- A financial proposal detailing the costs associated with the delivery of the assignment.
The financial proposal must be in Rwandan Francs; - A cover letter addressed to the Director of Inades-Formation Rwanda.
Notice:
The required documents (hard copies) in English will be submitted toInades-Formation Rwanda head office located at Remera in Gasabo District behind Remera Main Buses Park, about 1km from the International Airport of Kigali, close to “Centre Christus”.
