Job description

Key Performance Areas
  • Executing pricing and CVM operations that align with MTN Rwanda’s strategy and overall commercial focus.
  • Administering effective pricing policies, initiatives and leading value-based customer investment programs to ensure the profitability of the company.
  • Implementing value management & retention strategy to achieve the objectives of optimizing the ARPU, Churn control and increasing value market share.
  • Competitor monitoring, market insight and regular analysis of competitors’ offers vs MTN consumer offers, ensuring appropriate and timely pricing alignment.
  • Responsible for balancing value and pricing across consumer segments to ensure the most favorable returns for the company and to deliver on commercial lead KPIs.
  • Interfacing with the BI/ Research team including various Product Marketing Managers in evaluating various pricing initiatives.
  •  Responsible for preparing Pricing Project Plans for the introduction of new services and revising pricing for existing services.
  •  Developing innovative pricing for non-core and emerging services (such as RMS, VOD, OTT, etc…)
  •  Working closely with the Finance and MTN Strategy team in the production of revenue/ pricing models to ensure that pricing supports or promotes the overall company positioning whilst not overloading the network or missing revenue opportunities.
  • Provide technical pricing support to product leads in forming their pricing strategies as well as for new product launches.
  •  Responsible for pricing of roaming & interconnect retail offers.
  • Performs Tariff Margin Analysis & Simulation for new and existing products.
  • Monitors competitor pricing activities in the marketplace and proposes appropriate action.
  • Maintain the tariff book/catalog and ensure monthly signoffs of the document by the head of the Consumer & Digital department and CFO.
  • Work with Consumer Product Marketing owners to ensure that pricing is attractive and appealing to target customers.
  • Managing and updating pricing guidance, ensuring the updated versions are fully approved by stakeholders

  • Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills.

Experience:

  • At least 3 years’ experience of Marketing Intelligence/Business Intelligence in Telecom industry
  • Experience in analyzing data to draw business-relevant conclusions and in data visualization techniques and tools
  • Solid experience in writing SQL queries (MS SQL and Presto Big Data), visualization tools (Power BI and Tableau) and Machine Learning (Python)
  • Advanced experience with Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio

Key Performance Areas

Business Intelligence 

  • Develop and lead the implementation of a robust strategic framework for Business Intelligence within MTN Rwanda
  • Develop and monitor reporting structure to deliver service forecasts.
  • Develop and monitor metrics to measure business key performance indicators and variance analysis.
  • Develop and manage a centralized Marketing Dashboard (Hourly/Daily/Weekly/Monthly) to support the commercial functions decisions making.
  • Support IT team on data engineering and data processing; especially to manage and engaging stakeholders on business rules for Base Semantic Layer (BSL) in Data-warehouse (EVA).
  • Benchmarking international Business Intelligence practices and continually improving the marketing intelligence framework.
  • Redesign BI operational systems and procedures to achieve operational excellence.
  • Operational Support to commercial departments within the Business Intelligence function.
  • Managing, adapt and developing AI/ML model in the internal MTN AI/ML Platform (ADAM).
  • Responsible on reporting weekly EXCO report, Monthly and Quarterly functional report, Group reports and Regulatory reports, this include Adhoc reports.

Market research and Analytics

  • Analyse market trends and provide insights to guide the executive management decision or to support the relevant business functions.
  • Identify areas where value can be added / exploited further, areas where value is being destroyed and areas where value is latent, and act accordingly.
  • Understand & apply analytical/research techniques, for e.g., – to deliver micro- segmentation and campaigns.
  • Geo-Marketing and GIS Management – micro-market prioritization and network resource management support.

Support Strategic and tactical commercial projects

  • Support CVM team with relevant customer information to executive effective targeted campaigns.
  • Provide predictive analytics as input to products development and pricing teams such as historical trends, competitive landscape, Consumer insights, etc…
  • Support Marketing in business planning
