Details
Applications are now open for the 2022 Yale Young Global Scholars – Fully Funded. The 2022 Yale Young Global Scholars is open for all nationalities and deadline is 10th January 2022.
Yale Young Global Scholars is an unparalleled academic and leadership program at Yale University, founded on the tenets of liberal arts, renowned for its diverse and inclusive community, and committed to increasing education access. Yale Young Global Scholars empowers the next generation of leaders by building a global community and designing interdisciplinary programs that foster intellectual curiosity, deepen understanding and inspire creative action across all borders.
Yale Young Global Scholars emphasizes an open, exploratory, and collaborative approach to learning. Our program is designed to allow students to experience learning in a variety of different university contexts, from large lectures to small seminars, and even the spontaneous learning that happens in dining halls and around campus.
- With no grades or course credit, YYGS encourages students to approach all aspects of the program creatively with the understanding that they set their own limits. Students receive an electronic certificate of completion at the end of the session.
- The diverse and inclusive community at YYGS enhances learning by inviting students to analyze issues from multiple perspectives. Living and learning alongside peers from around the world allows students to broaden their own world views by learning about countries and cultures they have never encountered before.
- Exploring Yale: participants live on campus, explore surrounding areas and take advantage of opportunities that the Yale community offers.

Need-based financial aid
For students with demonstrated financial need, we strive to ensure that cost of attendance will not prevent anyone from anywhere in the world from participating in YYGS. We help students get ready for the college application process by understanding tuition “sticker price,” expected family contribution (EFC), and how to apply for financial aid.
YYGS is proud to be one of the only pre-college programs in the world that provides need-based financial aid equally to both domestic and international students, which is offered as a tuition discount (up to $6,500 USD, 100% of tuition). Students with demonstrated financial need are encouraged to apply for YYGS need-based financial aid.
We consider demonstrated financial need separately from applicant eligibility. Therefore students are encouraged to provide us with as much information as possible when applying for aid. Please know that the information you provide will be kept confidential.
Though we cannot meet all requests for financial aid, we strive to meet as many requests as we can. In 2021, of all admitted students who applied for financial aid, we met 99% of their requests in full, and YYGS distributed over $3 million USD in need-based financial aid equally to domestic and international students.
Application fee: Early Decision 60$, Regular Decision 75$
YYGS application fees are non-refundable. Students with demonstrated financial need can submit the Fee Waiver Form (located within the financial aid section of the YYGS online application) for their school official to complete, and (if approved) the waiver will reduce their application fee to $0 USD.
Early Action applicants will receive an offer of admission OR be deferred into the Regular Decision pool for further review. Early Action applicants who are deferred into the Regular Decision pool will receive their decision of Admit, Waitlist, or Deny by March 5, 2022.
Travel costs are not included in need-based financial aid packages, except for those eligible as outlined on the Scholarships page. Each year, hundreds of YYGS students fundraise to cover their travel costs by working with partner organizations, local businesses, and more.
