About the Partnership for Global Security (PGS)
The Partnership for Global Security (PGS) is currently accepting applications for its 2025 internship and fellowship programs, offering unique opportunities for individuals interested in nuclear security, global governance, and energy policy. These include remote Research and Communications Internships for Summer 2025, the Della Ratta Global Energy and Security Fellowship—a six-month, stipend-supported position focused on the intersection of nuclear energy and global security—and the Herbert Scoville Jr. Peace Fellowship, a Washington, DC-based program that supports early-career professionals committed to peace and security work. All positions offer valuable, hands-on experience with a globally recognized NGO advancing innovative policy solutions to 21st-century challenges.
Internship Opportunities at PGS

Research Internship
Current Research Areas:

Climate change, nuclear power growth, and global security

Expansion of nuclear energy in the Middle East and East Asia

Evolution of nuclear security policies and governance structures
-
Voluntary frameworks for nuclear security governance
-
Cybersecurity and emerging technology threats
Responsibilities:
-
Conduct in-depth independent research
-
Support ongoing staff research projects
-
Track updates from key agencies and produce briefs
-
Represent PGS at relevant meetings and events
-
Provide communications and administrative support as needed
Qualifications:

Interest in nuclear nonproliferation, nuclear energy, and governance

Ability to work independently and collaboratively

Strong research and writing skills
-
Minimum availability of 2 days per week

Communications Internship
Responsibilities:

Commit to 10–15 hours per week

Assist in designing and implementing a new communications strategy

Contribute to the newsletter, blogs, commentaries, and press releases

Maintain the PGS Constant Contact email list

Update the website and create engaging content
-
Collaborate on content distribution strategies
-
Help manage the PGS Twitter account and other platforms
Qualifications:

Self-motivated with interest in PGS’s mission
-
Strong writing and verbal communication skills
-
Experience in strategic communications and social media management (preferred)

Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with WordPress and Constant Contact (preferred)

Della Ratta Global Energy and Security Fellowship
Responsibilities:

Conduct research and analysis on nuclear energy, security, and geopolitical issues

Evaluate nuclear power deployment in newcomer nations
-
Assess governance needs for advanced nuclear reactors

Support the Nuclear News and Views bi-weekly newsletter
-
Prepare updates, memos, and presentations
-
Assist with social media and website content
-
Organize and support virtual meetings and events
Position Details:
Qualifications:

Previous professional or internship experience in relevant research areas

Interest in multidisciplinary global security topics

Strong writing, research, and administrative skills

Ability to work independently and collaboratively

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in international affairs, energy policy, or similar

Experience with Microsoft 365 (especially PowerPoint)

Skills in data analysis tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Excel) are a plus
-
Event planning experience is a plus
