Umeå University is providing a great opportunity through the Postdoctoral Scholarships in Cryo-EM of Photosynthetic Protein Complexes. The opportunity is available to talented students for the academic year 2025-2026.

To be eligible for the postdoctoral scholarship, applicants must hold a PhD or an equivalent degree in Structural Biology, Biophysics, Biochemistry, or a related field. The degree should have been awarded within the last three years, unless special circumstances apply. Candidates must have experience in structural biology, cryo-EM, or photosynthetic water oxidation research, and possess strong communication skills in English.

• Admissible Criteria: Applicants must:

  • Hold a doctoral degree (PhD) or equivalent in Structural Biology, Biophysics, Biochemistry, or a related discipline.

     

  • Have completed their doctoral degree within the last 3 years (exceptions apply for special circumstances).

  • Demonstrate experience in structural biology, cryo-EM, or studies related to photosynthetic water oxidation.

     

  • Possess strong skills in scientific communication and the ability to work collaboratively in an international research environment.

     

  • Merit will be given to those with backgrounds in biophysics, cryo-EM sample prep/data analysis, cyanobacteria handling, and manuscript writing.
