Scholarship Value and Awards

For the academic year 2025-26, Ulster University is awarding:

1. 20 scholarships worth £3,000 per year, up to £9,000 over three years (placement years excluded).
2. 7 scholarships worth £2,000 per year, up to £6,000 over three years (placement years excluded).

Eligibility Criteria

The Ulster University Inspire Scholarships are open to students who meet the following eligibility criteria:

1. Must have a permanent home address in Northern Ireland.
2. Must be currently completing an acceptable Level 3 qualification (such as A-Levels or BTEC) at a Northern Ireland educational institution.
3. Must have received an offer from Ulster University and confirmed it as their first choice through UCAS.
4. Must meet agreed financial criteria, with a household income of £22,500 or less.
5. Must be studying a full-time undergraduate degree based at the Belfast, Coleraine, or Derry~Londonderry campus.

In addition, applicants must meet at least one of the following conditions:

1. Be first in family to attend university.
2. Be a carer for a family member or dependent.
3. Be estranged from their parents.
4. Be care experienced (fostered, adopted, or lived in care for 3 months or more).
5. Be in receipt of Disability Living Allowance or Personal Independence Payments.
6. Reside in a high deprivation area (check via NISRA postcode checker).
