Eligibility Criteria

- Prior Scholarship Considerations
- No Australia Award scholarship in the last 2 years before applying.
- No past RTP Fee Scholarship unless you finished a Master by Research and are now applying for a PhD.
- Application History: You can only apply for this scholarship up to 3 times in 5 years.
- Enrollment and Study Requirements:
- Must be an international student starting full-time research (HDR).
- Can apply if you’ve done less than 6 months of your course.
- Concurrent Scholarship Limitations
- Cannot have another scholarship mostly funded by the Australian Government for tuition.
- Nationality: Applicants from all nationalities can apply for the U of Sydney International Scholarships.
- Academic Qualification Restrictions
- PhD applicants cannot already have a similar research doctorate.
- Master’s applicants cannot have a higher research qualification than an Australian Master’s.

- Unconditional Offer (you’re accepted straight away)
- Conditional Offer (you need to finish exams or improve English scores first)
- Alternative Offer (they might suggest a different degree level which you can upgrade later if you meet extra requirements)
