 About the Fall Internship

Start Date: September 8, 2025

Wellington Advocacy is looking for motivated and enthusiastic individuals to join our team for the Fall 2025 Internship. This role is ideal for students and recent graduates looking to apply their academic background in real-world political, policy, and public affairs settings.

 Internship Responsibilities

As an intern, you will work closely with experienced professionals and be expected to contribute meaningfully to client-focused and internal projects. Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the team in day-to-day operations and client work
  • Assisting with:
    • Government relations plans
    • Client presentations
    • Proposals and briefing notes
    • Research and memos
  • Conducting in-depth research across sectors to identify client opportunities and strategy
  • Monitoring and interpreting:
    • Government announcements
    • Political and legislative developments
  • Preparing and delivering on-time assignments and deliverables
  • Acting as official note-taker during client-facing calls
  • Leveraging your skills and knowledge to contribute to the firm’s consulting services

 Internship Requirements

To qualify for this role, candidates should meet the following criteria:

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a post-secondary program in:
    • Political Science
    • Communications
    • Public Relations
    • Other relevant fields
  • Strong interpersonal skills and confidence in public presentations
  • Excellent writing, research, and communication abilities
  • Familiarity with how the federal or provincial governments operate in Canada
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 Suite
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment
  • Bilingualism (English/French) is considered an asset
