2025 Xiamen University Online Chinese Scholarships: (Deadline 10 May, 2025)

To provide a funding source to international students undertaking their higher studies in Australia, Xiamen University has organized the Online Chinese Scholarships for the academic year 2025-2026.

To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must be non-Chinese citizens in good health and under 30 years old as of September 1, 2025. They must hold a senior high school diploma with good academic performance and be recommended by a Confucius Institute co-built by XMU or one of its partner universities.

Xiamen University (XMU) is a prestigious public university founded in 1921 by Tan Kah Kee, a prominent overseas Chinese businessman located in Xiamen, Fujian Province, China. Known for its beautiful campus, often dubbed one of the most scenic in China, XMU sits near the sea and the Wanshi Botanical Garden. It’s a key institution under China’s “Double First-Class” initiative, excelling in fields like economics, marine science, chemistry, and education.

Eligibility

• Eligible Countries: Open to all non-Chinese citizens

• Acceptable Course or Subjects: The scholarship will be awarded in the undergraduate program of Chinese Language (050102) offered by XMU

• Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, the applicants must meet all the following criteria:

  • Be a non-Chinese citizen in good mental and physical health with a valid passport

  • Hold a senior high school diploma with strong academic performance

  • Be currently studying at or recommended by a Confucius Institute co-built by XMU or its partner university, with priority given to candidates from disadvantaged backgrounds

  • Be under 30 years of age as of September 1, 2025

  • Not currently receiving any other scholarship.
