2026 Girls Who Invest (GWI) Intensive Program: Applications for the GWI Intensive Program Are Now Open! (Deadline: 1 October, 2025)
Calling all college students who are expected to graduate between Fall 2027 and Spring 2029! If you are interested in developing your finance skills, gaining mentorship from industry leaders, and looking to join a dedicated community, consider applying!
Scholars will be accepted on a rolling basis, and the final deadline to apply is October 1st. We can’t wait to read all your applications and meet the GWI Class of 2026!
GWI defines class standing by anticipated college graduation date, not by accumulation of credit.
Please provide your class standing according to your college graduation date (details below), regardless of total credits accumulated to date.
Sophomores: Students with sophomore standing are eligible to opt into consideration for the Internship Track within the 2026 GWI Intensive Program. Sophomore standing applies to any undergraduate student with an anticipated graduation between fall 2027 and spring 2028, for example, those who will be traditional college sophomores in the fall term of 2025 or students who entered or are entering college with sophomore standing.Â
First-years: Students with first-year standing are eligible to apply to the 2026 GWI Intensive Program only, and are not eligible to opt into consideration for the Internship Track. First-year standing applies to any undergraduate student with an anticipated graduation between fall 2028 and spring 2029, for example, those who will have first-year standing in the fall term of 2025 or those who will have sophomore standing in the fall term of 2025 but are enrolled in a dual-degree program that will be completed between fall 2028 and spring 2029.
Summer Intensive Program (SIP)
Building on the foundations set in the GWI Intensive Program’s unified curriculum, our Summer Intensive Program (SIP) combines academic instruction with real-world experience. It is intensive, immersive, and an incredible opportunity to explore a career in finance and investment as part of a supportive community of peers, lecturers, industry experts, Alumni, and GWI staff.
Learn
Learn, bond with others Scholars, and challenge yourself in an encouraging, inclusive environment. As a Scholar, you will:
- Learn core finance and investment concepts from world-class business professors
- Develop core technical skills and soft skills to thrive in a business environment
- Interact with leading industry professionals through our Speaker Series
- Meet key company executives and apply your new valuation skills during a group capstone project
- Build relationships with fellow Scholars that will last beyond your GWI summer
- Receive free housing and meals on campus at Wharton, (additional financial assistance available on an application basis for internship-related costs)
Intern
Complete paid internships with leading investors at GWI’s Partners, top investment firms across the U.S.
- Connect with experienced professionals who serve as individual mentors through the GWI Ambassador Program
- Be invited to select GWI Partner events
- Communicate with GWI Alumni who are currently working in cities around the world
Upon successful completion of the program, you will have access to GWIÂ Alumni benefits:

Online Intensive Program (OIP)
Building on the GWI Intensive Program’s curriculum, our Online Intensive Program (OIP) is a tuition-free, self-guided learning experience that helps students build a solid foundation in core finance and investment concepts at their own pace.
Self-starters are expected to complete online modules from our leading educational partners, which have historically included CFA Institute, Wall Street Prep, and Wharton Online*. The program is designed for completion from winter through summer while undertaking an independent internship, summer job, or other full-time endeavor.
Learn
OIP is a flexible education program designed to help you develop key skills needed for success in the investment industry. During the program, you will have the opportunity to:
- Complete a curriculum of industry-recognized modules
- Work independently to learn and refine your skills at your own pace
- Collaborate with other Scholars through assigned study pods
- Build relationships through GWI community events
- Interact with GWI staff through coffee chats
- View panels of industry professionals focused on key topics and sectors

Prospective Scholars can apply to the GWI Intensive Program which begins with a unified curriculum that builds technical and career development skills to position Scholars for successful careers in investment management and beyond. Sophomore applicants can opt into consideration for an Internship Track within the GWI Intensive Program.
Selected Scholars placed on the Internship Track will be eligible for paid internships at GWI Partner Firms. As the program progresses, Scholars will continue their education in either the Summer Intensive Program (SIP) or in the Online Intensive Program (OIP) – dependent on factors including but not limited to the availability of internships at our Partner Firms, Scholar internship preferences, and in-program performance.
Below are the materials you will be required to submit to apply to the 2026 GWI Intensive Program:
- All required fill-in fields and short answer questions in this application
- One written essay of 350-500 words (prompt within application)
- Resume detailing work experience and extracurricular involvement
- A one-minute pre-recorded video (instructions within application)

- First-Year applicants: Complete high school transcript (grades 9-12 or equivalent coursework)
- Two feedback forms from applicant-designated references (Internship Track Applicants Only)

Note: Supplementary documents, including transcripts, may be provided after an application has been submitted. Unofficial transcripts can be considered in the application review process.
This application can be completed across multiple sittings. Once your application has been created, you will be able to save your progress and come back to the application as many times as you need, as long as it is completed and submitted by the appropriate deadline.
