Kibogora Polytechnic is a private faith-based higher learning institution owned by Free Methodist church in Rwanda accredited under license by Ministerial Order 07/2015 of 2015, published in Official Gazette 03/2015.

 A. STAFF IN THE FACULTY OF HEALTH SCIENCES

Post 1: Assistant Lecturer/Lecturer

Requirements:

  • Education levelPhD/Master’s in Pediatric Nursing from a recognized university, with equivalence where it is applicable
  • Registered with a relevant professional body

Key Role and Responsibilities:

  1. To participate actively in projects proposal and grants writing and research activities for faculty development;
  2. To use Moodle as a requirement in order to promote the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE);
  3. To submit the course outline to the program leader for approval before he/she starts to teach the course;
  4. To organize continuous assessment and final exams as required in the Academic Regulations;
  5. To meet the course objectives as described in the course outline;
  6. To timely give feedback to students on their coursework;
  7. To evaluate and submit the examination marks and copies two weeks from the day of the final exam;
  8. To ensure quality is met in all teaching-learning and assessment including online module evaluation;
  9. To provide students with relevant information as to what is expected from them in order to facilitate their teaching and learning process;
  10. To be fully involved in designing, implementing, and evaluating the marketing strategies including student recruitment, and ensure better service delivery
  11. To abide by the motto and values of Kibogora Polytechnic;
  12. To fulfill other assignments upon the direct supervisor’s request

Position 2: Tutorial Assistant

Requirements:

  • Education levelBachelor’s Degree in Midwifery from a recognized university, with equivalence where it is applicable
  • Professional experience: 2 years of experience minimum Health-related
  • Registered with a relevant professional body

Key Role and Responsibilities:

  1. Tutoring students upon request from the department.
  2. Assist students that are undertaking their projects, mostly those that need laboratory settings.
  3. To contribute to the development of appropriate teaching materials in collaboration with the module leader;
  4. To use Moodle as a requirement for all Academic teaching staff in order to promote the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE);
  5. To acquire tutorial questions and case study problems from the program leader before he/she starts tutorial sessions;
  6. To participate in the assessment process, using a variety of methods and techniques, and provide effective, timely, and appropriate feedback to students to support their learning.
  7. To align teaching with stated course objectives as described in the course outline;
  8. To provide students with relevant information as to what is expected from them in order to facilitate their teaching and learning process;
  9. To engage in professional development to remain current and ensure the application of recent advances in knowledge to teaching.
  • To abide by the motto and values of Kibogora Polytechnic;
  • To be a role model, approachable, helpful, and familiar with the course content and assignments assigned by conducting tutorials, computer labs, or review sessions; Mark assignments and tests as well as managing the course/module grades; and then contribute to a work environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds.

Position 1: Assistant Lecturer/Lecturer

Qualifications:

  • Education levelMaster’s in Geography from a recognized university, with equivalence where it is applicable
  • Having a postgraduate diploma or certificate in learning and teaching in Higher Education (PGDLTHE) will be an advantage.

Key Role and Responsibilities:

  1. To participate actively in projects proposal and grants writing and research activities for faculty development;

         C. POSITION OF DIRECTOR OF MARKETING AND PUBLIC RELATIONS

The Director of Marketing & Public Relations oversees the marketing and public relations programs to highlight KP’s strengths and to help generate enrollment of students through marketing activities.

Key Role and Responsibilities:

  1. Plan, implement, and coordinate the KP’s marketing, advertising, and public relations; programs to advance the goals and mission of Kibogora Polytechnic;
  2. Coordinate and supervise all media relations to ensure accurate and timely coverage of events and news, utilizing newspaper, radio, television, and social media;
  3. Write press releases, articles, announcements, presentations, profiles, and stories highlighting students and programs that support KP and campus communications and meet the Institution’s outreach efforts;
  4. Advise the faculty and staff on public relations, community relations, and marketing and communication issues;
  5. Coordinate and direct all institutional marketing and community activities to best represent it to a variety of audiences in an effort to maintain and/or increase student enrollment;
  6. Plan, coordinate and direct selected special events or tours (both small and large) that attract media coverage and attendance of key groups such as elected officials, corporate sector leaders, and community-based organizations;
  7. Act as a liaison with the media, elected officials, donors, alumni, and other key constituents in alignment with KP’s
  8. Monitor issues, trends, and events in the community, predict consequences, and advise the management on planned programs of action;
  9. Establish, nurture, and maintain positive external relationships with individuals, businesses, and community-based organizations that support KP’s outreach
  10. Direct and oversee the design and structure of the institution’s website; review and approve all web-related promotional
  11. Arrange for interviews with personnel for print and broadcast media and for special
  12. Coordinate the photography and video needs and other relevant activities for special College
  13. Participate and lead the elaboration and implementation of a strategic plan for the marketing and community relations functional area at the institution.
  14. Prepare comprehensive reports, including researching, compiling, and analyzing data for special projects and reports;
  15. Develop and manage the annual budget for the department; analyze and review budgetary and financial data;
  16. Perform other duties as assigned;

Requirements:

  1. Master’s degree in marketing, Journalism, Public Relations, or Communications, with equivalence where it is applicable
  2. Four years of experience related to marketing and public relations,
  3. Demonstrated advanced skills in IT
  4. Three years of experience in marketing is an advantage
  5. Demonstrated experience working with groups of diverse backgrounds in terms including, cultural, academic, socioeconomic, and
  6. Demonstrated sensitivity, knowledge, and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of the students we
