Job Summary

To develop and grow the business by driving a good relationship between clients, agents and brokers in a manner that ensures achievement of set business targets

Key tasks and responsibilities

  • Follow up on quotations to close business and to get feedback
  • Daily servicing of clients to nurture the relationship between the company and our customers
  • Follow up on renewals to retain business
  • Conduct market intelligence to get information
  • Provide support services and training to agents
  • Premium collections
  • Ensures acceptable levels of business retention (i.e. preservation of existing business) are maintained at all times; and any existing business lost due to unavoidable circumstances is replaced by other suitable accounts (over and above the new business acquisition target for the year)
  • Closely monitors customer service satisfaction to ensure renewals are not threatened; negotiates renewal terms well in advance and sends formal renewal confirmations to clients before the renewal dates.
  • Maintains, and regularly updates business progress reports.
  • Cover note control – to make sure all outgoing cover notes are properly used and returned for booking within 5 working days after being issued to clients.
  • To make sure that the company knows how much cover notes are with intermediaries.
  • Weekly visits to intermediaries to make sure that the relationship is cemented and to do a regular audit on the issued Old Mutual stationeries to the intermediaries.

Qualifications and experience

  • University degree in business administration or related field
  • Basic Insurance qualification
  • Sales and Marketing Qualification

Job Summary

Provide hands-on technical leadership to facilitate the day-to-day IT needs of Old Mutual Rwanda Plc.  This involves managing and supporting end user devices, servers, network infrastructure and telephony, and leading the help desk team.

Key tasks and responsibilities

  • Contract team-specific deliverables with the Country ICT Manager.
  • Maintaining IT operations such as applications, email systems, hardware, software, and network security tools
  • Optimizing and maintaining network security protocols, such as secure socket layer (SSL), secure file transfer protocol (SFTP), and virtual private networks (VPNs), to ensure data is protected.
  • Spotting inefficiencies in an organization’s computer network and making recommendations to address weaknesses.
  • Performing routine network audits
  • Troubleshooting issues with an organization’s local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), and other network segments
  • Training staff in using software and hardware.
  • Collaborating with network architects to build and maintain servers and optimize network performance.
  • Participating in hardware and software purchasing decisions
  • Manage and support all computer infrastructure (e.g., laptops, network devices, Telephony, and servers).
  • Perform hardware and software audits to ensure compliance to licensing and I.T Policy requirements (e.g., Security Compliance).

  • Experience in setup and support in LAN and WAN.
  • Experience in firewalls configuration and support, Internet VPN’s remote implementation, troubleshooting, and problem resolution is desired.
  • BSc/Ba in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related discipline
  • Professional certification (e.g. CISCO, Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA)) would be an added advantage.

Job Summary

This role provides support and assistance to underwriting staff. Performs administrative duties regarding new and renewal accounts, risk assessments, and loss runs and loss ratings. Being an Underwriting Assistant may assist underwriters with the computation of rates and premiums.

Key tasks and responsibilities

  • Ensure proper records of security documents maintained, ie motor certificates are safely secured and accounted for.
  • Continually review the performance of Accounts/Brokers within the section for follow up accounts that are not performing well.
  • Ensure timely and accurate quotation for business and follow up on the same and thereafter filing monthly reports detailing renewal capture and status of un-renewed business.
  • Follow up on premium collection and enforce the credit control policy to ensure that premiums are collected in good time.
  • Ensure accuracy of renewal notice and timely preparation of renewal terms for major accounts while ensuring that a copy of such terms is maintained for reference purposes.
  • Signing of security documents eg certificates, COMESA cards, invoices within authority limits for accountability.
  • Marketing of company products and services to brokers and walk in clients.
  • File weekly and monthly reports detailing the outstanding work position which includes ageing analysis for purposes of follow up by the Marketing department.
  • Any other duty as assigned by line manager.

Qualifications and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Insurance option or related business field.
  • 3+ years’ work experience
  • Basic Insurance Qualifications
