Chulalongkorn University’s C2F High Potential PhD Scholarship (Batch 13), which offers 76 fully financed positions to gifted international students in all academic subjects, is currently accepting applications for Semester 1/2025. There is a place for you in this work regardless of your background in the social sciences, engineering, health sciences, humanities, or science.

The Second Century Fund (C2F) Office was founded in February 2019 under the C2F Directive and Policy Committee, which was presided over by CU President Professor Dr. Bundhit Eua-arporn, after the Chulalongkorn University Council approved the C2F Plan Phase 3 on January 24, 2019. Four strategic plans—Intelligence, Infrastructure, International, and Impact—are included in the authorized C2F Plan to achieve its goals.

76 C2F PhD Scholarship 2025 Details:

Financial Benefits

The following package is included in the 76 C2F PhD Scholarship monthly stipend:

• For those with a master’s degree:
• 30,000 THB per month (around 800 USD).
• For those with a bachelor’s degree (5-year PhD path):
  • Two years: 20,000 THB each month
  • The following three years: 30,000 Thai Baht per month
• Tuition costs are covered up to 48,000 THB every semester.
• CU I-House offers housing to international students.
• Every topic is covered, including business, education, law, technology, and the sciences.

Strategic Plans:

Four strategic plans—Intelligence, Infrastructure, International, and Impact—are included in the authorized C2F Plan to achieve its goals.

• In order to improve the university’s capacity to conduct top-notch research and foster a more international environment in Chula, the first program, Intelligence, seeks to hire outstanding graduate students and postdoctoral researchers from both Thailand and other countries.
• The goal of infrastructure boosting is to support high-end equipment for the Industrial Partner Technology Lab and the target research agenda, such as big data and AI for health.
• International is to improve strategic partner matching with leading research institutes or universities.
• Impact seeks to fund large, high-impact initiatives that address national agendas, global concerns, or social needs. The university will select subjects as research objectives for top-down initiatives based on broad issues. In order to produce outstanding academic results, professors and the institution will suggest bottom-up programs.

Objectives:

The Second Century Fund (C2F) will provide funding for high-potential Ph.D. applicants with the following goals in mind:

1. To help Chulalongkorn University achieve its overall objective of student-centered growth and the international growth plan, with the goal of ranking among the top 100 universities in the world (admiration).
2. To empower Ph.D. students and teachers by offering rewards for doing high-caliber research in various output categories (Track A, Track B, and Track C) that correspond to their potential.
3. To put in place a Retention Payment mechanism, which guarantees the timely delivery of research product and pays when the study is successfully submitted.

Eligibility Criteria:

• Before applying, you need to find a Chulalongkorn University supervisor (mentor). We won’t consider applications without a confirmed professor.
• Both the supervisor and the PhD candidate must use the Grant Gateway to submit their applications.
• GPA requirements:
  • Master’s degree holders must have a minimum GPA of 3.50.
  • Bachelor’s degree holders should have a GPA of 3.25 if their university is in the QS Top 500, or 3.50 if it is not.
