The Downtown Limited hereafter (“TDL” or “the Company” or “the developer”) formerly incorporated as “Downtown Sarl” is a private limited company with the main objective of construction of buildings and other civil engineering projects. The company was incorporated in March 2, 2006. Downtown SARL had purchased land previously occupied by the National Police of Rwanda from Kigali City Council in 2005. The company seeks to tap into the rapidly growing real estate sector in Rwanda. The Rwandan real estate and construction sector is lately witnessing a boom in construction activity spurred by a rising demand for both commercial and residential space.

 

Location

 

The Downtown project is located on Plot 1017 at Muhima, Nyarugenge Sector, Nyarugenge District in the City of Kigali along Avenue De La Justice, a major inner ring road artery providing easy access both into and out of the city.

 

Position: Sales and Marketing Officer

 

Number of recruitment: 1 to 2

 

Term: Full time

 

Reports to: General Manager

 

Job Purpose/ Role:

 

The Build and Sales Manager (B&SM) is the lead marketing and selling agent for The Downtown Ltd in relation to properties available for rent by third parties as a result of construction/build or acquisition by the business. He or she project manages the process from cradle to grave!

 

Key duties and responsibilities:

 

Develop a sales and marketing program well in advance of any specific property coming to the market
Work closely and in tandem with the marketing and Brand Manager to develop any relevant promotional or marketing materials and initiatives
Continuously examine, research and analyze new trends and developments including competing for property offers coming into the market
Liaise with the construction project managers to understand the details of space components and or units that will be available and the timing of such availability
Develop and prepare the brief for the sales team including who to target, how, when and the offering supported by appropriate promotional material
Develop and maintain a register/database of all known approaches by individuals and or institutions
Develop innovative e-marketing and or tele reach strategy and program to gain depth and breadth in the targeted market segment
Proactively keep management abreast of progress and any recommended modifications to tactics
Remain knowledgeable about real estate markets and best practices

 

Person Specifications

 

A first degree is desirable
Relevant certification in sales and or marketing is an added advantage
2-3 years’ experience in an estate agent in the sale of property
Ability to network at all levels of society
Results driven and a focus of deal closure
An eye for detail and the ability to synthesize client/customer requirements
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong influencing skills and interpersonal skills
Ability to lead a team of sales professionals
Computer literacy /personal computer skills and presentation software/graphics etc., keyboard, internet search, math, Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
