JOB ADVERTISEMENT OF ACCOUNTANT
Kigali Multiservice cooperative (KMC) is seeking an experienced and qualified Accountant who fulfilled the requirements bellow:
He/she will be responsible for the following duties and responsibilities:
- Prepare journal entries related to revenue and expenses and adjusting journal entries as necessary.
- Maintains accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.
- Keeping the financial books and maintaining records for accounting transactions.
- Prepare annual budgets for all activities of KMC.
- Comparing system outputs with daily input in cash books verifying for accuracy and resolving discrepancies.
- Preparing the salaries, taxes of RRA, RSSB and RURA.
- Prepare reconciling bank accounts and other general ledger accounts as identified. Make adjusting entries as needed. Compile Balance Sheet account reconciliation books.
- Prepare and review data entry for accuracy and completeness and review coding of all invoices to ensure coded to proper accounts. Follow and enforce established procedures for processing all invoices.
- Generate the monthly, Quarterly and Annual financial statements for KMC.
- Curry out any other duty assigned by KMC.
Key Technical Skills & Knowledge required:
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles best practices and other applicable regulatory rules, regulations and requirements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and planning with teamwork skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Accounting programs such as SAGE SAARI
Minimum qualification:
Bachelor degree in Accounting with Professional Qualification recognized by IFAC (ACCA, CPA) is an added advantage.
