BACKGROUND

Initiatives for Peace and Human Rights (iPeace) is a Rwanda-based non-governmental organization that strives to enhance the culture of peace in the Great Lakes region through human rights and good governance education. Initiatives for Peace and Human Rights has been providing free legal services to vulnerable people living in remote rural areas across Rwanda.

iPeace is looking for a finance intern to assist within the finance department.

SCOPE OF WORK

Under the direct supervision of the Program Manager and the Finance officer, the Finance and administration intern will be in charge of:

  • Assist in tax filing and other related duties
  • Assist in administrative duties
  • Enter financial data into the system
  • Manage and keep records on inventory
  • Process invoices and follow up with suppliers and partners as needed
  • Performing any other task assigned by iPeace management 

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED

The following qualification and skills are required from a person applying for the position

  • To hold a Bachelor’s degree in Administration, Accounting, Finance or any other related field
  • Good command of written and spoken Kinyarwanda with very good proficiency in English
  • A passion in administration and Finance
  • Strong spoken and written communication skills
  • The ability to absorb and analyze
  • A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Confidence and a persuasive manner
  • Time management and strong organizational skills.
