African Climate Stories Fellowship 2024: (Deadline 26 October, 2024)
Applications are invited for the African Climate Stories Fellowship 2024. African Climate Stories uses relatable narratives, immersive experiences, and interactive media to raise awareness and inspire action on Africa’s diverse environmental challenges. African Climate Stories Fellowship is a flagship program aimed at sparking creative actions and inspiring stories to address pressing environmental challenges across communities in Africa.
Through this 2024 call for applications, 30 Fellows will be selected from across Africa for an immersive project-based fellowship experience. All fellowship sessions will be conducted virtually in a span of 6 weeks. By the end of the Fellowship, curated projects will be exhibited and showcased for visibility and support at the African Climate Stories Festival in December.
Program Details
Each cohort lasts 16 weeks. The first 5 weeks consists of an induction program and an online learning curriculum designed to deepen and challenge your thinking around environmental and climate change issues and how to use diverse forms of storytelling mediums to capture each issue in the best way that suits the target audience of your story. You will interact with other storytellers in your cohort and have one-on-one sessions with some of the fellowship’s faculty.
After the first 5 weeks, fellows will go into their communities and begin creating their stories and document their impact while giving weekly progress reports to the fellowship team.

Eligibility
- Storytellers in all its forms are encouraged to apply! From Filmmakers, Poets, Artists, Writers, Content Creators, Game developers, Musicians and Performers to even Climate Advocates with experience in storytelling for environmental and climate change advocacy.
- Applicants must be Africans and resident in Africa.
Application
Between weekly online classes, assignments and additional networking opportunities, applicants can expect to commit about 6 hours per week to the African Climate Stories Fellowship.
