The African Liberty Writing Fellowship is a year-long program designed to equip young Africans with the skills needed for careers in academia, media, public policy, or any field that involves critical and analytical writing. The fellowship focuses on training participants in opinion article writing, providing them with the tools to express their ideas and insights effectively. Fellows have previously been featured in prominent African and international media outlets, showcasing the program’s success in developing high-quality writers.
Accepted applicants will begin with a five-week mandatory online training from 23 May 2025 to 20 June 2025, where they will learn key writing techniques, argument development, and editorial skills. The top candidates from this training will be selected as African Liberty Writing Fellows. The fellowship itself will run from 11 July 2025 to 14 July 2025, offering further opportunities to grow as writers and connect with experts in the field. Eligibility for Liberty Writing Fellowship
