Applications are open for the African Jewels Development Initiative (AJDI) Plateau Emerging Leaders Fellowship (PELF) 2025.
This comprehensive six-month intensive leadership development program is designed to empower and equip 34 emerging young leaders—two representatives from each of Plateau State’s 17 Local Government Areas—with the essential knowledge, practical skills, and strategic networks needed to create meaningful and lasting change within their communities. Participants will engage in a rigorous curriculum that encompasses leadership principles, policy advocacy, community development strategies, and sustainable project implementation. Through hands-on training sessions, mentorship from experienced professionals, peer learning, and exposure to real-world case studies, these young leaders will be prepared to influence policies, drive impactful and sustainable development initiatives, and implement innovative solutions that address pressing challenges in their localities. By the end of the program, they will not only have a deep understanding of governance and leadership dynamics but also be well-positioned to champion transformative efforts that contribute to the overall progress and prosperity of Plateau State.

Benefits of Plateau Emerging Leaders
By the end of the fellowship, fellows will:

- Implement 17 community projects addressing key challenges in Plateau State.

- Develop practical action plans for community engagement and impact.
- Enhance youth representation in policy dialogues and decision-making processes.
Eligibility for Plateau Emerging Leaders
To be eligible for the fellowship, applicants must:
- Be between the ages of 20 and 35 years;
- Have a minimum academic qualification of a Bachelor’s degree or current student;
- Be an indigene of Plateau State, Nigeria;
- Demonstrate a track record of leadership or community engagement;
- Show commitment to policy influence, governance, and sustainable development;
- Have a passion for creating positive change in their communities.
