Applications are now open for the 2026 Alfred Friendly Press Partners Fellowship. Alfred Friendly Press Partners, which has trained over 400 journalists from 90 countries for over 40 years, is now accepting applications for its 2026 program.
Program Details
- The fellowship is a four-week in-person program focused on foreign journalists who are living in exile in the US.
- The program builds skills and resiliency in these areas: Security, Legal, Journalism and Entrepreneurship.
- Beyond the training, our goal is to create community amongst a diverse group of journalists facing many similar obstacles.
- One topic – the psychosocial aspects of exile – is embedded throughout many of our conversations, beginning the first day.
Benefits
- Essential expenses – housing, food, transportation – will be covered. A living stipend of $2,000 per fellow is included.
Selection Criteria
- English proficiency is required.
- All finalists will be interviewed by the selection committee.
