Beit Trust Postgraduate Scholarships 2026/2027 for Study in South Africa & United Kingdom (Fully Funded): (Deadline 13 February 2026)

Applications are now open for the Beit Trust Postgraduate Scholarships 2026/2027.
In 2025, the Trust awarded 21 scholarships at British and South African universities, through generous academic partnerships with leading institutions.

Eligibility Requirements

By Act of Parliament, the Beit Trust supports only applicants who:

• Are nationals of Zambia, Zimbabwe, or Malawi.

• Are permanent residents of one of these countries.

• Live in and/or intend to return to their country after completing their studies.

• Have not already begun a course of study.

Benefits

• Full tuition and academic fees.

• Living allowance.

• UK Visa and Health Surcharge, TB test, Biometric costs.

• Additional allowances (Arrival, Laptop, Departure).

• Economy-class flights to and from your study destination.

Selection Criteria

• Academic Achievement: Preference for Distinction or Upper Second Class.

• Postgraduate Qualifications: Priority to candidates without prior postgraduate study.

• Professional Work Experience: At least 3 years in a relevant field is valued.

• Voluntary Work & Leadership: Strong emphasis on leadership and community contribution.

• Course Relevance: Fields such as Medicine, Engineering, Education, Economic Growth, Agriculture, Conservation (MBA excluded).

• Commitment to Return: Intention to return home after studies is essential.

Selection Process

• Shortlisting based on merit, eligibility, and alignment with Beit Trust criteria.

• Interviews: Week of 20 April 2026, held in Lusaka, Harare, and Blantyre.

• Not all interviewees will be awarded scholarships.

How to Apply

• Submit only one application.

• Apply to more than one Partner University (up to 4 degree courses, UK and/or South Africa).

• Upload all documents in one sitting.

• Degree certificates & transcripts

• CV

• Personal Statement (max 300 words)

• Clear recent photograph

• Copy of valid passport

• Three references (Academic, Character, Employer if applicable)
