The Institute of Tropical Medicine (ITM) in Antwerp is offering a postdoctoral fellowship in Microbiology, Parasitology, Functional Genomics, or Vector Biology. The research focuses on the interaction between malaria parasites (Plasmodium) and mosquitoes (
Anopheles), aiming to support new strategies for malaria control.
Applicants must hold a PhD in Microbiology, Parasitology, Molecular or Cell Biology, or a related field. They should have experience in Plasmodium cultures, molecular biology techniques, and omics analyses. Prior work with insect or mouse models and knowledge of vector-borne diseases and immunology are preferred.

Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, applicants must:

Hold a PhD in Microbiology, Parasitology, Molecular/Cell Biology, or a related discipline

Have experience in Plasmodium tissue culture, genomics, transcriptomics, and proteomics

Preferably have prior experience in insect host-pathogen models and/or mouse models
-
Demonstrate strong knowledge of vector-borne diseases and immunology
-
Possess excellent scientific writing and communication skills in English.
