Call for Applications: European Youth Energy Forum (EYEF) 2025 — Empowering the Next Generation of Energy Leaders: (Dealine 19 May, 2025)

Are you passionate about renewable energy, youth advocacy, and driving a just energy transition across Europe and the Mediterranean? The European Youth Energy Network (EYEN) is thrilled to announce the fourth and most expansive edition of its flagship event — the European Youth Energy Forum (EYEF) 2025! Taking place from October 6–10, 2025, in Italy, this prestigious event welcomes 100 young changemakers, aged 18 to 35, to participate in a dynamic, collaborative experience that blends policy innovation, leadership development, and meaningful dialogue with key stakeholders in the energy sector.

With the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) joining as co-host of the event agenda, EYEF 2025 promises to be a landmark gathering, offering unprecedented opportunities for youth voices to be heard in shaping the future of energy in Europe and beyond.

What Is the European Youth Energy Forum?

The European Youth Energy Forum is the flagship initiative of EYEN, created to elevate youth perspectives and influence policymaking in the energy transition. Each year, the Forum gathers young people from across the European and Mediterranean regions, offering them a unique platform to engage with policymakers, industry leaders, and academia through hands-on collaboration and strategic dialogue.

The European Youth Energy Forum is seeking 100 enthusiastic individuals, aged 18 to 35, from across Europe and the Mediterranean region to apply as forum participants. They will be selected to collaborate on the theme From Potential to Skills: Shaping Young Professionals for the Energy Transition, through ten weekly online sessions, culminating in a 5-day live event in Italy (travel and accommodation covered!). EYEF aims to stimulate and amplify the ideas and visions of young people in the energy sector.

Program Structure and Activities

EYEF 2025 will combine both virtual and in-person engagement in an innovative hybrid format:

• Ten weekly online sessions: These virtual workshops will help selected participants build foundational knowledge, explore key energy transition topics, and begin formulating ideas for policy proposals in diverse working groups.

• Five-day live event in Italy (October 6–10, 2025): The on-site event will feature keynote speeches, expert panels, networking sessions, and intensive group work on policy development.

All selected participants will have their travel and accommodation expenses covered, ensuring equitable access regardless of financial background.

Following the success of previous editions, this year, 100 enthusiastic youths will be selected to collaborate on policy proposals to equip young professionals and students with the skills required to accelerate a just energy transition.

The event will include keynotes, discussion panels with experts from academia, industry and the public sector, as well as policy proposal working sessions and engaging workshops for participants.

How it works

A group of young people are selected to participate in weekly online sessions, as well as a live event (with all expenses covered!). During the online sessions, we kick off the work needed to build a position paper on how to improve youth engagement in the energy transition at the European, National and local levels, in the public and private sectors, as well as in education. The focus might be in researching and writing new proposals, or on improving existing proposals.

The event includes discussion panels with energy experts (open to the general public and streamed online), as well as work sessions with the participants, facilitated by EYEN.
