Call for Applications: Fully-funded Youth Delegates for Helsinki Security Forum 2025 (Deadline: 26 August, 2025)
The Helsinki Security Forum (HSF) 2025 is inviting applications for its Youth Delegate Programme. This flagship foreign and security policy event will take place in Helsinki, Finland, from 19–21 September 2025. The forum gathers policymakers, experts, and thought leaders to discuss pressing European and global security challenges.
About the Youth Delegate Programme
The HSF Youth Delegate Programme is designed for young professionals under the age of 30 who are passionate about European defence, foreign policy, and security issues. The initiative offers a unique opportunity to engage in high-level discussions, contribute fresh perspectives, and build networks with leading experts and policymakers.
Delegates will also be encouraged to share their experiences and key takeaways from the forum on social media, helping to amplify youth voices in conversations on European defence and security.
Application Requirements
Applicants must submit an essay of 700–1000 words focusing on a relevant security or defence issue. The essay should reflect the applicant’s personal perspectives and align with the central theme of Helsinki Security Forum 2025 – The Hour of Europe. Selected essays will be published as HSF Insights on the forum’s website, providing a platform for youth contributions to global security dialogue.

Candidate Profile
Applicants will be selected based on the following criteria:

Relevant academic or professional background in security, defence, international relations, or related fields.

Important Information
The Youth Delegate Programme is open to applicants of all nationalities. However, participants are responsible for managing their own visa arrangements. Due to the application timeline, HSF is unable to provide visa support.
