Applications are invited for the Cassava Changemakers Pitch Competition 2025. In celebration of World Cassava Day 2025, they invite passionate young innovators to take part in the Cassava Change-Makers Pitch Competition — a platform to showcase bold, original ideas with the potential to transform the cassava value chain.
The theme for the 2025 competition is Youth-Led Innovations for a Sustainable Cassava Future. This competition is an opportunity to gain national recognition, funding, and business development support for your impactful ideas. This initiative is proudly sponsored by Agbeyewa Farms.
Focus Areas
- Production innovations that increase yield and reduce labor requirements.
- Technologies that improve efficiency, reduce energy consumption and enable new product development.
- Market solutions that connect value chain actors and build consumer awareness and demand.
Prizes
- 1st Place: ₦2,000,000 + Business Development Support
- 2nd Place: ₦1,000,000 + Business Development Support
- 3rd Place: ₦800,000 + Business Development Support
- 4th Place: ₦700,000 + Business Development Support
- 5th Place: ₦500,000 + Business Development Support
Eligibility
- Open to Nigerian youth aged between 18-35 years.
- Finalists must be available to attend the World Cassava Day event in Abuja on June 28 to pitch live if selected.
- Submission must be your own innovation and focused on solving real challenges in Nigeria’s cassava value chain based on its reality.
- They are seeking practical, scalable, and technology-driven solutions, as well as culturally and community-based innovations, that can unlock the full potential of cassava for people, profit, and the planet.
Application
- Detail your concept to a 5-slide pitch deck including background, problem statement, solution & implementation strategy, ask and expected outcomes.
- Introduce yourself and pitch your idea in a short, clear video. Upload and share the link with your application.
