University campuses are at the heart of the change: in 10 years, they should have achieved the 17 SDGs to be able to welcome and educate the next generation! What will these Campuses be like? 

Imagine a solution that will allow these sites to be considered socially, economically and environmentally sustainable.

Your mission?

Are you a student or university professor/researcher? Do you want to have a major impact and help to build the university environment of the future? Upload your project online and be noticed by the United Nations (UNRIC) and Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF). 

Eligibility Requirements

This Challenge is open and offered solely to:

  • Student. Any individual aged eighteen (18) years and/or with full legal capacity, who (i) is currently enrolled at a post-secondary institution during the current scholar year 2019-2020, with a student card as verification . Each Student may only participate once in each Challenge. If the participant is a minor, he/she must provide this authorization signed by a parent or guardian.
  • Teacher/ Professor. Any individual aged eighteen (18) years and/or with full legal capacity, who (i) currently a teacher-researcher enrolled in higher university education and able to prove it by a document attesting to their teaching load at the university and/or their membership of a university laboratory. Only one participation in the Challenge per person will be allowed.

Finalist

Networking

All finalists will have the chance to meet and discuss with the Special Jury comprising representatives of the UNRIC, UNESCO and AUF at the Grand Final in June in Paris.

The Grand Finale

Defend your project in front of an exceptional jury composed of members of the UN, AUF, UNRIC, UNESCO, AFD, IRD, Enactus, SoScience, Groupe SOS, Impact Campus, Utopies/Campus responsables!

How the Challenge Works

Stage 1 – Ideation

September, 24th – February, 7th

  • Click the “Participate” button to start.
  • Create a team of 5 people maximum (students, recent graduates or university professors/researchers).
  • You can also join an incomplete team to offer your skills and boost your chances of winning.
  • Upload a presentation explaining your project in 5 slides (download the template at your disposal, complete it and submit it online) before February, 7th, 11:59pm.

Stage 2 – Deepening

March, 2nd – April, 18stCongratulations if your team is selected for the Deepening phase.
During this phase, you will be invited to take your concept further following several video on the Sustainable Development Goals proposed to you by the United Nations and AUF. You will have the chance to ask the challenge organiser questions. The deliverables expected are a PPT presentation with 5 slides and a video presenting your project and team. You have the possibility to upload up to 5 one-slide annex, to develop or illustrate your project.

Stage 3 – Grand Finale

Mid-JuneIf your team reaches the Final, you will have the chance to pitch and defend your project in the presence of the Jury comprising members of the UN, AUF, UNRIC, UNESCO, AFD, IRD, Enactus, SoScience, Groupe SOS, Impact Campus, Utopies/Campus responsables.
