China 2025: Fully Funded Hubei Government Scholarship: (Deadline 30 June, 2025)

Hubei Government Scholarship 2025-2026 is a prestigious fully funded scholarship designed for international students aiming to study in China. The Beijing Municipal Education Commission has created a fund. This fund is worth 35 million yuan, which is about US$5 million. This scholarship gives awards of up to 40,000 yuan (about US$5,700) to each recipient. It is one of the most generous programs available.

2 Coverage of Hubei Government Scholarship

Hubei Government Scholarship can be classified into 5 types:

1. The undergraduate Scholarship is 10,000 per year;
2. Graduate Scholarship is 15,000 RMB per year;
3. The doctorate scholarship is 20,000 RMB per year;
4. General Scholar Scholarship is 5,000 RMB per 6 months or 10,000 per year;
5. Advanced Scholar Scholarship (including visiting scholars, similarly hereinafter) is 10,000 per 6 months or 20,000 per year.

3 Eligibility Criteria for Hubei Government Scholarship

To qualify for the Hubei Government Scholarship, the candidate must fulfil all of the following requirements below:

• Required Languages: The applicant must show language skills based on the needs of the academic programs. This is decided by each higher learning institution.
• Eligible Countries: All World Countries except Chinese citizens.
• Applicants should be foreign citizens with valid passports and, should be friendly to China.
• Applicants should be well-behaved, hardworking, grade excellent and in good health.
• Undergraduate scholarship applicants should be around 25 years old. They must have a degree equal to a Chinese High School Degree or higher.
• Graduate Scholarship applicants should be within an average of 30 years old and have obtained a bachelor’s degree.
• Doctorate Scholarship applicants should be around 35 years old and must have a master’s degree.
• All General Scholar Scholarship applicants should be around 40 years old. Chinese language scholars must have a Higher School Degree or higher. Professional scholars need a bachelor’s degree or higher. They can also be university students in their second year or above.
• Advanced Scholar Scholarship applicants must have a master’s degree or higher. They should also hold the title of associate professor or higher. The average age of applicants should be around 50 years old.
• Applicants do not obtain any financial aid from the Chinese government or other organizations.
• Meeting entry requirements of the applied university and program.

5 Hubei Government Scholarship Duration

• Applicants for Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral Degrees at Chinese universities in the Beijing area can receive scholarships. The scholarship duration should be no longer than 4 years.
• Applicants for Chinese language training or advanced studies at universities in Beijing can receive a scholarship. The scholarship lasts less than one year.
• Scholars and international students can apply for special training in universities and colleges in Beijing. The scholarship lasts less than one year.
• Exchange students or those who greatly contribute to international education in Beijing can receive a scholarship. The scholarship lasts less than one year.
