Apply for the Commonwealth Youth Awards 2025 and Win Cash Prizes, Trophies, and Certificates. The Commonwealth Youth Awards is organized by the Commonwealth Youth Programme. The Awards are for Excellence in Development Work. It recognizes Young applicants (aged 15 – 29) who are bringing a positive change to sustainable development work in their communities. This year Khalil Foundation is Partnered with the Commonwealth Foundation to offer additional grants and prizes.

Details About Commonwealth Youth Awards 2025

The main objective of the Commonwealth Youth Awards is to praise the young leaders in promoting a future built on fairness, peace, prosperity, and sustainability. And efforts made towards the 2030 Agenda and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

To enable young leaders to feel empowered to take the lead in development projects, support, and Promote Youth-Led Initiatives.

Commonwealth will share the nominee’s success stories, talent, commitment, and creativity to inspire, motivate, encourage, and challenge other young people to show their interest in the Development Work.

Cash Prizes, Trophies, and Certificates

Four finalists will be chosen from each Commonwealth region, with the top entries receiving the Regional Winner Award. The top Regional Winner will receive the Pan-Commonwealth Award and be named the Commonwealth Young Person of the Year 2025.

• The 20 Regional Finalists will receive a £1,000 grant, a trophy and a certificate.
• The 5 Regional Winners will receive an additional £2,000 (a total of £3,000) a trophy and a certificate.
• The Pan-Commonwealth Winner will receive an additional £2,000 (a total of £5,000) a trophy and a certificate.
• The Khalili Foundation will also present 3 youth PEACE awards to young people working in peace and development.

Eligibility Criteria

• The nominee must have been involved in development work for at least 12 months, either professionally or as a volunteer.
• The nominee must be a Commonwealth citizen, and the development work must be taking place in a Commonwealth country.
• The nominee must be between 15 and 29 years old as of December 31, 2024.
• Individuals can nominate themselves or be nominated by someone familiar with their development work.

Condition of Award

Awards will be decided based on:

1. Level of impact
2. Level of innovation/fresh approaches to problem-solving
3. Quality of achievement
4. The quality of the evidence provided
5. Sustainability.

The last date to apply for the Commonwealth Youth Awards 2025 is 18th October 2024.

The application process is online. Winners will be officially announced during Commonwealth Week in March 2025.
