The Research Training Program (RTP) Scholarship at Curtin University provides full financial support for both domestic and international students pursuing a Higher Degree by Research (Master’s or PhD). Funded by the Australian Government, this scholarship offers comprehensive funding including living allowance, tuition waiver, and research support.
Scholarship Benefits
- Annual stipend of approximately AUD 33,500 – 37,500 (tax-free) (We Make You Scholar)
- Full tuition fee waiver for the duration of the degree
- Research allowances for travel, thesis, equipment, and relocation (often up to AUD 2,000) (We Make You Scholar)

Who Is Eligible
- Both domestic and international applicants
- Holders of a Bachelor’s with Honours or Master’s degree (or equivalent)
- Applicants must identify a suitable Curtin supervisor and submit an Expression of Interest (EOI)
- Must meet HDR entry requirements and Curtin’s English language standards

Application Steps
- Identify a supervisor and project from Curtin’s HDR listings or propose your own (Curtin University)
- Submit EOI (CV, transcripts, proposal, referees) between 1 July – 18 August
- If shortlisted, receive an Invitation to Apply
- Submit full application and scholarship form by 31 October
- Await selection results in November and enrol by March
