RISE Germany offers undergraduate students from North American, British, and Irish universities the opportunity to complete a summer research internship at top German universities and research institutions. Additionally, RISE Germany is funded by the German Federal Foreign Office.

About German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD)

DAAD scholarship in Germany is a private, federally funded and state-funded, self governing national agency of the institutions of higher education in Germany, representing 365 German higher education institutions (100 universities and technical universities, 162 general universities of applied sciences, and 52 colleges of music and art) [2003]. Requirements for Research Internships in Science and Engineering (RISE) Qualification

, Applicants must ensure they meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • Open to students from North America, the UK, and Ireland.
  • Currently enrolled undergraduate students in science, technology, and engineering.
  • Must have completed at least two years of study by the start of the internship.
  • Strong academic performance, with a focus on research potential and relevant coursework.
  • Proficiency in English; knowledge of German is not necessary but can be beneficial.
  • Ability to commit to a full-time internship in Germany for a period of 10 to 12 weeks.
  • Strong motivation to gain international research experience in Germany.
