About the position

- Develop novel analytics to better understand spatial and temporal dynamics of diet quality and market flows, using high-frequency data.
- Advance research on how market, climatic, and infrastructure interlinkages influence dietary patterns.
- Collaborate with colleagues in other CGIAR centres and partner organisations to coordinate global research and align objectives to improve understanding on the implications for analysis on market and diet research.
- Contribute to discussions with government and non-governmental organisations on the implications of research.
- Support training workshops with colleagues and partner organisations to improve data science literacy.
- Assist in data analytics for IITA Rwanda projects.

- Bachelor’s degree in data science, statistics, or related field and demonstrated experience of at least 3 years, Masters is an added advantage
- Experience in advanced data analytics, preferably with temporal and spatial data.
- Extensive knowledge of R/Python programming.
- Proficient in developing communication materials, for example with Markdown, JavaScript, HTML, or CSS.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English are required.
- Experience working in an international context interacting with multi-disciplinary stakeholders is desirable.
