Aim and Benefits of Deakin University George Alexander Foundation Scholarship
Benefits:
- This scholarship offers cash payments up to $8000 per year for three years, or $6000 per year for four years, depending on course duration.
- The total maximum value of this scholarship is $24,000.
Requirements for Deakin University George Alexander Foundation Scholarship Qualification
Prospective candidates should ensure they meet all criteria before submitting their application.
To be eligible you must:
- Be an Australian citizen
- Be commencing your first an undergraduate bachelor degree in Trimester/Semester 1 2024 at Deakin University
- Be enrolled full time in a Commonwealth supported place (CSP)
- Be enrolled in on campus studies (Online students are ineligible to apply)
- Be living in a rural or regional location, or be relocating from a rural or regional location to study at Deakin
- Be able to demonstrate participation in and commitment to supporting the community and volunteer activities
- Be able to demonstrate leadership and leadership potential in your academic, professional and personal life
- Bave a minimum ATAR of 75.
Preference will be given to Year 12 school leavers (including students who have been on exchange or gap year programs for up to twelve months after completion).

When you apply for this scholarship, you’ll need to supply evidence of your leadership and/or community and/or volunteering activities.

Aim to provide documents which are current, relevant and concise.
After the closing date, shortlisted applicants will be contacted and asked to provide the following additional supporting documents:
- Response to Key Selection Criteria (template to be supplied)
- Values statement (template to be supplied)
- Resume
- Two referee reports – one academic and one professional/personal referee

Requirements for Deakin University Helen Macpherson Smith Trust Scholarship Qualification
Prospective candidates should ensure they meet all criteria before submitting their application.
To be eligible you must be:
- a female domestic student
- commencing in an undergraduate bachelor’s degree at Deakin University in Trimester/Semester 1 2024
- enrolled full time in a Commonwealth supported place
- living in a Victorian rural or regional home location, or be relocating from a Victorian rural or regional home location to study at Deakin University
- able to demonstrate financial disadvantage either that you are in receipt of Centrelink benefit, Low Income Health Care Card or have a personal or family taxable income below the threshold determined by the University.

Scholarship offer rounds
Round 1: To be considered for these Round 1 scholarship offers you will need to submit your application and all supporting documentation by 9 January 2024 at 5pm.
We will be aiming for full allocation at this round.
Re-offer Round: To be considered for any remaining scholarships, not taken up in previous offer rounds, you will need to submit your application and all supporting documentation by 31 January 2024 at 5pm.
All scholarships will be offered within six weeks of the Re-offer round closing date.
