Disability Right Monitoring Officer Under Contract at NATIONAL COUNCIL OF PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES (NCPD): (Deadline 17 May 2023)
Job description
Ensure the full implementation of laws and rights promoting the Persons with
Disabilities in general;
Develop, initiate, maintain and revise laws, programs that were adopted to develop
the full inclusion of Persons with Disabilities;
Consult with the Ministry of Justice as needed to resolve difficult legal compliance
issues Respond to alleged violations of rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and
Standards of Conduct by evaluating or recommending the initiation of investigative
procedures. Develops and oversees a system for uniform handling of such violations;
Ensure proper reporting of violations or potential violations to duly authorized
enforcement agencies as appropriate and/or required;
Provide legal professional support and advice to the Executive Secretary;
Provide proactive legal assistance and advice on various legal issues like dispute
resolution, government funding agreements, regulatory, employment, and
governance;
Participate in the planning periodic activities of the Council;
Assist the Council in compliance with all various legal requirements;
Advise on minimal liability and legal exposure for the functioning of the Secretariat;
Ensure that the legal documents and other contractual documents are effectively
drafted, reviewed, interpreted, and vetted;
Take decisive actions on various legal matters and assessing contentious and
uncontroversial issues;
Participate in workshops regarding the drafting laws and regulation about the persons
with disabilities;
Supervise, research and analyze implication of case law, legislation, and regulatory
matters that affect the Council and reporting them back to the Executive Secretary;
Draft the modules on the rights of persons with disabilities;
Participate in the advocacy activities aiming at promoting the rights of persons with
disabilities;
Produce weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual activities report;
Perform any other task assigned by the Executive Secretary.

Minimum Qualifications

Master’s Degree in Law
1 Year of relevant experience

3 Years of relevant experience
