Applications are invited for the Documentary Africa (DocA) Grants 2024 for African Filmmakers. Documentary Africa (DocA) has a history of supporting African filmmakers across various stages of their projects. With the launch of the Shoot Your Short, they are excited to start on their venture into supporting short-form documentary content.
They provide financial support for Development, Production, Postproduction and Impact Production of Documentary films to filmmakers and producers from the African continent. They also provide project support to documentary organisations working within the continent to develop, execute, monitor, and evaluate projects which may include Trainings (workshops, residencies, labs), Mentorships, Festivals, and Film markets.
Grant
- This year, they will be awarding grants valued at $5,000.
Eligibility
To be considered, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be African producers of African nationality residing on the continent.
- Have completed at least one previous film.
- Commit to completing the short film within a year from receiving the grant.
- Ensure the film is less than 20 minutes in duration.
