Context and background
Brief description of DUHAMIC-ADRI
DUHAMIC-ADRI is a Non-Governmental Organization legally granted by Rwandan law legally recognized by the Ministerial Order No. 943 of July 12, 1985. As local Non-Governmental Organization. DUHAMIC-ADRI operates in countrywide with a vision of “a rural world responsible for its self-socio-economic development” and the mission of supporting integrated development through the initiatives of the rural population in their struggle for self-development.
Brief description of Climate-Smart Agriculture Project
Since July 2024, DUHAMIC-ADRI is partnering with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) through a signed Partnership Framework Agreement (PFA) to implement Phase II of the Climate-Smart Agriculture and Market Development for Enhancing Livelihoods of Refugees and their Host Communities in Rwanda.
The Climate-Smart Agriculture initiative aims to improve food security and self-reliance for 2,036 beneficiaries (732 refugee and 1,304 host community households, including 1,091 women and 945 men). By 2026, this project will benefit over 7,851 family members through climate-smart agricultural practices and a market development approach.
Specifically, the partnership focuses on contributing to achieving the following outcomes of the project: Outcome 1: Increased Agricultural Productivity and Outcome 2: Increased Household Income.
It is in this regards, DUHAMIC-ADRI wish to recruit one (1) qualified Driver who will facilitate different travels of DUHAMIC-ADRI team under across the district of interventions “Nyamagabe and Gatsibo” districts for the Climate-Smart Agriculture and Market Development for Enhancing Livelihoods of Refugees and their Host Communities in Rwanda project.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Drive staff/guests or partners in a safe, timely, and controlled manner;
- Ensure proper use of DUHAMIC-ADRI Vehicles in accordance with the organization travel policy;
- Monitor and implement regular maintenance plan;
- Review maintenance Logs and recommend changes as necessary;
- Ensure that paper vehicle logs are maintained up to date;
- Provide basic administrative support to the Programs/projects when required.
- Willing to work in Kigali and other districts of interventions of DUHAMIC-ADRI
- Perform day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicles; check oil, water, battery, brakes, tires, vehicle services, technical control; etc. and ensure that the assigned DUHAMIC-ADRI vehicles are road or waterway worthy and maintained up to the established security standards;
- Ensure that instructions and security guidance provided by the supervisor and security focal point are strictly followed;
- Ensures valid documentation for passengers, items or cargo in vehicle;
Qualifications:
- Have at least an Advanced General Certificate of Secondary Education (A2),
- Having a driving License at least class B and C with a proven 3 years of experience;
- Be a Rwandan;
- A self-motivated and hard-working person;
- Maximum age for the candidates is 35 years.
- Able to communicate in basic written and spoken English or French.
- Strong ability to read and interpret traffic policies and regulations
Other information:
- Job Location: Kigali with travels in different districts
- Report to: Logistic Officer
- Duration of the contract: 1 Year renewable based on performance
- Monthly Net Salary: 177,000 Rwf
