EXPRESSION OF INTEREST FOR GIS SERVICES FOR THE ESG AND MINE PLANNING TO TRINITY METALS LTD
Trinity Metal Ltd is seeking for a qualified and local Rwandan service provider to undertake GIS Services for ESG and Mine Planning for Trinity Metals operation in Rwanda.
Scope of Work for GIS service provision:
The scope of the GIS Services for ESG and Mine Planning work includes but not limited to the following:
1. Scope of Work
1.1 Data Collection
- Collection of existing spatial data from Trinity Metals mines, including Airbus and LiDAR surveys and imagery, GPS co-ordinates, survey mapping, mining and exploration datasets, specialist environmental and mine rehabilitation datasets.
- Collection of existing datasets from government or other stakeholders.
1.2. Data Processing and Management
- Create, organize and maintain GIS data.
- Georeferencing and digitization of maps.
- Data cleaning, standardization, and quality control.
- Attribute data input and validation.
1.3. GIS Analysis
- Spatial analysis (e.g., buffering, spatial overlays, proximity).
- Suitability analysis for future mine infrastructure planning.
- Remote sensing – data acquisition, interpretation and assessment from various sensors.
- Change detection (e.g., land use and land cover over time).
1.4. Mapping & Visualization
- Creation of static and interactive maps.
- Symbology design and layout composition.
1.5. Database Development
- Design and implementation of geodatabases.
- Data migration and integration from various sources.
- Metadata creation and data cataloguing.
1.6. System Integration & Support
- Integration with other enterprise systems (e.g., asset management, ERP).
- User access and permission setup (if applicable).
- Ongoing technical support and maintenance.
1.7. Trinity GIS Platform Presentation and Training
- Presentation of deliverables to Trinity
- GIS functionality training workshop (one day with key Trinity Staff)
2. Assumptions & Dependencies
- Availability of accurate base data and imagery.
- Access to field locations for survey (if needed).
- Timely review and approval by the client.
3. Exclusions
- Field surveys
- Detailed engineering design.
- Software licensing costs.
- Legal land boundary surveys (unless specified).
4. Acceptance Criteria
- Accuracy of spatial data within [specify tolerance, e.g., ±1 meter].
- Compliance with agreed symbology and formatting standards.
- Functionality of any web-based GIS applications delivered.
Eligibility and Competency Requirements
Interested parties must:
- Have a minimum of 10 years of demonstrated experience in GIS and remote sensing work.
- Possess a solid track record of working on similar projects and should be provided as part of submissions
- Where applicable, be registered with, or eligible to carry out similar services with, a recognized professional organization
- Possess multidisciplinary engineering expertise and project management capabilities.
- Have experience in other related software is an advantage but not mandatory.
- Use of standard GIS formats (e.g., Shapefile, GeoJSON, GDB).
- Compliance with national and international spatial data standards (e.g., ISO 19115, OGC).
- Adherence to client-specific protocols and branding.
- GIS Software (e.g., ArcGIS Pro, QGIS, Global Mapper)
- Cloud-based GIS platforms (e.g., ArcGIS Online, Mapbox, Google Earth Engine)

- Application Cover Letter introducing your Company/Individual expressing interest, availability, and a brief business and experience profile including qualifications and experience.
- CVs of proposed personnel demonstrating GIS skills status.
- Key personnel CVs for conducting the required technical work
- Summary of qualifications and relevant experience.
- Indicative timeframe and approach.
- Details of at least three similar projects undertaken in the last five years.
- Certificate of domestic company registration issued by RDB.
- VAT Registration.
- Valid income tax clearance issued by RRA
Submission to be forwarded to tender@trinity-metals.com by not later than 29th August 2025 at 11:00AM Local time.
Expressions of Interest received after 11:00AM on 29th August 2025. will unfortunately not be considered.
Further discussion will be undertaken with selected respondents to prove the competence of the bidder and thereafter an invitation to tender will be provided to the bidder.
