The Elmhurst Nurses’ Foundation Scholarship has been established to provide financial support to students experiencing financial hardship, as a result of undertaking their final clinical placement in their undergraduate Bachelor of Midwifery degree. The scholarship is open to all students undertaking their final placement in 2022.

Aim and Benefits of The Leahurst Nurses’ Foundation Bachelor of Midwifery Scholarship
The scholarship is valued at $2000 paid within two weeks of commencement of the final clinical placement.
Requirements for The Leahurst Nurses’ Foundation Bachelor of Midwifery Scholarship Qualification
The Scholarship will be awarded on the basis of financial need and academic merit.
Selection of the candidate(s) will be made by a panel which will include representatives from the College of Nursing and Health Sciences.
The scholarship is awarded at the discretion of the selection panel. There is no obligation to offer the scholarship in any given year, should there not be a suitable applicant.
Applicants for the scholarship must:
· be enrolled or enrolling in their final clinical placement of an undergraduate Bachelor of Midwifery degree at Flinders; and
· be able to demonstrate financial hardship and/or anticipated financial disadvantage as a result of undertaking the placement; and
· have a GPA of 4.5 or above; and
· not be in receipt of a similar scholarship for the same placement.
The scholarship is open to all students undertaking their final placement in 2022. Applicants can apply even if the details of their final placement have not yet been confirmed (placements for some students won’t be confirmed until after the scholarship closing date).

The following documentation will be required as part of the application process:
- Applicants who are in receipt of a Commonwealth Income Support payment will need to demonstrate evidence of this. This can be done by uploading a recent Centrelink (or DVA) Income Statement which shows you are currently in receipts of government means tested benefits.
- Applicants who are not in receipt of a Commonwealth Income Support payment as described above will need to complete the Financial Hardship Form which is downloadable below.
