Flinders University 2025 AUKUS Scholarship for International students: (Deadline 30 September 2025)

The American Australian Association is strongly supportive of AUKUS and its aim to promote stability, security, and most importantly freedom within the wider Indo-Pacific region. The AUKUS Scholarships support American and Australian individuals undertaking full-time Graduate level study with a focus on the fields of security, technology, and diplomacy. Applicants with specializations including but not limited to Pillar I and the SSN-AUKUS Submarine Program, the Pillar II fields of Artificial Intelligence and Autonomy, Quantum Technology, Advanced Cyber, Undersea Technology, Hypersonics, and Electronic Warfare, as well as the aligned capability of Innovation, specifically regarding climate and clean energy, are strongly encouraged to apply.

About Flinders University

Flinders University is a public university in Adelaide, South Australia. Founded in 1966, it was named in honour of navigator Matthew Flinders, who explored and surveyed the South Australian coastline in the early 19th century. Flinders is a verdant university[citation needed] and a member of the Innovative Research Universities (IRU) Group and ranks in the 10-16 bracket in Australia and 36th in the world of those established less than 50 years. Academically, the university pioneered a cross-disciplinary approach to education, and its faculties of medicine and the humanities are ranked.

Aim and Benefits of AUKUS Scholarship

This scholarship will provide support of up to US $40,000 and may be used to support tuition, travel, living expenses and any other associated educational or research costs.

Requirements for AUKUS Scholarship Qualification

Eligibility requirements USA to Australia direction:

• All USA to AUS applicants must be an American citizen or permanent resident (dual citizens/residents are not eligible);
• Applicants must have a formal letter of offer from an accredited institution, program or course in Australia, at the time of application;
• Applicants must be conducting research or studying within the fields supported;
• Applicants must be studying at the Graduate-level or above (Masters, Ph.D. or Postdoctoral Research);
• Applicants may already have commenced their studies in Australia, but must have at least one-year of full-time study left at the time of application.

• High-resolution headshot & in-action study field shot (min 1MB, 300 DPI);
• Video presentation (max 1 minute – introducing yourself & your planned research/study abroad);
• Passport biographic page from Australia or USA;
• Offer or acceptance letter from your host university or research supervisor, confirming your placement;
• Academic transcripts for Graduate and/or Undergraduate study;
• Resume (please reduce to 1-page);
• Detailed budget outlining expenses and income throughout the year of supported study – please download and use the Graduate Education Scholarships Budget Template as a guide. This is available to download in the application portal;
• Three referees to list in the Letter of Recommendation section. Please note: after listing, referees will be automatically contacted to complete a recommendation within the online submission form. This is not viewable to the applicant.
