Job Description: Food Technologist

Position: Food Technologist

Location: Kamonyi\Mugina, Rwanda – On Site

Jagro Rwanda Limited, a foreign direct investment firm, has started to play a pivotal role in Rwanda’s agricultural sector. Specializing in cultivating and exporting premium strawberries, and value-added products. Jagro Rwanda upholds a legacy of operational excellence and sustainability inherited from its parent company in Sri Lanka. Renowned for its commitment to quality, the company is dedicated to contributing significantly to Rwanda’s agriculture by bringing forth sustainable farming practices and operational expertise.

Responsibilities: 

  1. Product Management:
    • Manage the Production in line with the quality aspects set by the company.
    • Conduct trials and testing to ensure quality and adherence to standards.
  2. Quality Assurance:
    • Implement and oversee quality control measures in the production process.
    • Conduct regular inspections to maintain high-quality standards.
  3. Regulatory Compliance:
    • Stay updated on food safety regulations and ensure compliance.
    • Coordinate with regulatory bodies for necessary certifications.
  4. Process Optimization:
    • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency.
    • Collaborate with production teams for seamless integration of changes.
  5. Documentation:
    • Maintain detailed records of production processes, testing, and quality assurance.
    • Prepare reports for management and regulatory authorities.
  6. Education and Experience:
    • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Food Science or a related field.
    • Proven experience in a food production facility is essential.
  7. Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of food technology, safety, and quality control.
    • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
    • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.

Requirements:

  • Education: Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Food Science or a related field.

Experience: Minimum of 1 year in a food production facility.

  • Skills:
    • Knowledgeable in food safety regulations and quality control.
    • Proficient in product development and process optimization.
  • Availability: Immediate availability preferred.
