Applications are now open for the 2021 KAIST International Student Scholarship – Fully Funded. The scholarship is open for international students and the deadline is 28th May 2021.
The Korean Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) offers the KAIST International Student Scholarship for undergraduate international students. KAIST educates, researches, and takes the lead in innovations to serve the happiness and prosperity of humanity. KAIST fosters talents who exhibit creativity, embrace challenges, and possess caring minds in creating knowledge and translating it into transformative innovation.
KAIST offers the best facilities, programs, and services for KAIST community members’ well-being. Nearly all undergraduates and graduates reside in 21 campus-housing complexes. Eight dining halls across the campus give them a wide variety of choices for their diet. State-of-the-art facilities such as the Lyu Keun-Chul Sports Complex offer diverse programs for health and wellness. International Scholar and Students Services (ISSS) Team provides various types of support for the international community at KAIST, including immigration and settling services, counseling, as well as language and culture programs and events.

- Full tuition fee: tuition exemption for 8 semesters
- Living expenses: 350,000 KRW per month
- Medical Health insurance
Requirement of 2021 KAIST International Student Scholarship
- KAIST Scholarships is offered to admitted students
- Students must maintain GPA over 2.7 out of 4.3 at KAIST after their freshman year.
Global Korea Scholarship program
Global Korea Scholarship is offered by NIIED, not by KAIST, the institute that administers the Korean government’s scholarship programs. As for detailed information on the application deadline and submission of required documents, applicants should contact the APPROPRIATE KOREAN EMBASSY (or Korean Education Center) in the country of applicant’s origin (or in the neighboring country), the organization in charge of the 1st round of selection. - Full tuition fee: tuition exemption for 8 semesters
- Living expenses: 800,000 KRW per month
- Airfare: one economy round trip
- Korean language training fee: one year
- Korean language training is mandatory and when the student does not achieve TOPIK grade 3 within a year, she/he is not eligible to enter the degree program.
- Others: medical insurance, settlement, and returning expenses
