Program Benefits

The selected fellow will receive a stipend of $85,000 for a ten-month period, along with professional expenses up to $10,000. The fellowship provides access to CFR’s vast research resources, mentorship, and opportunities to participate in high-level meetings, events, and publications. Fellows will have the freedom to pursue an independent research project while benefiting from CFR’s policy network and engagement with leading scholars and policymakers.

Eligibility Criteria

The fellowship is open to mid-career professionals from the United States and Europe who have demonstrated expertise in foreign policy, defense, or international affairs, particularly in the field of European security. Applicants must hold at least a master’s degree in a relevant field and have between five to fifteen years of professional experience. Preference is given to individuals who can bridge academic and policy communities and contribute fresh perspectives to transatlantic security discussions.
