Nanyang University of Technology (NTU) announces the start of accepting applications for the Nanyang University President’s Postgraduate Scholarship (NPGS). The NPGS Scholarship is a competitive and prestigious scholarship program designed to encourage outstanding graduates or final year students to take their first step towards a leading research career by earning a full-time PhD degree at NTU.

Nanyang University of Technology (NTU) is a national research university based in Singapore that is the second oldest independent university in Singapore and one of the best in the world. NTU is consistently ranked among the top 20 universities in the world according to most rankings and is currently 12th in the world according to the QS University Rankings as of June 2021. NTU is home to several research centers of excellence such as the Earth Observatory in Singapore and the Singapore Center for Environmental Life Sciences Engineering.
- The duration of the scholarship is one year and is renewable provided the student makes good progress in studies. The maximum duration of the scholarship is 4 years for doctoral candidates, as determined by the university in addition to providing the necessary research funding in each case.
- A monthly stipend of S$3,100 for international students and S$3,400 for permanent residents of Singapore.
- The sum of money to attend conferences is up to S$4,000 per financial year.
- A sum of money to obtain books with an annual grant of $500.
- A sum of money to acquire the necessary technology for one time in the amount of 1500 dollars.
- One-time message exchange of $600. The amount will be disbursed during the final year scholarship renewal.
- This award also covers the annual tuition fee.
- Accommodation priority will be given to subsidized campus housing
Eligibility Required for President’s PhD Scholarships
- There are no restrictions on the nationality of the candidates. However, preference will be given to Singaporean citizens and Singapore permanent residents.
- You must have obtained a Bachelor’s degree with honors (highest rank) or equivalent.
- If you have not yet completed an undergraduate program, you will need to provide documentation from your university that you are on track to earning an honors degree (highest distinction) or its equivalent.
- International students are required to perform teaching/laboratory supervision duties to fulfill the requirements of the Graduate Assistance Program (GAP).
