Objective of the GovAI Winter Fellowship

The Program aims to invite fellows to join a GovAI Team to conduct independent research on a topic of their own choice and get mentorship from leading experts.

Fellows receive mentorship from experts, develop a research proposal in the first two weeks, and produce an output like a report or article. The GovAI Fellowship alumni have secured positions at leading AI companies (DeepMind, OpenAI, Anthropic).

Beyond research, fellows can network with AI governance experts through Q&A sessions, workshops, and social events. They also get skill-building opportunities and can discuss future career paths.

Application Process

1. Submit Your Written Application
   • Complete the online application form, which includes:
     • A CV
     • A short personal statement
     • A writing sample
   • Ensure submission by 23:59 BST on Sunday, 13 July 2025.
2. Automated Assessment
   • Shortly after submission, selected candidates will receive an invitation to complete a 20-minute automated assessment.
3. Paid Remote Work Test
   • Candidates advancing past the assessment will undertake a paid remote work test in August 2025.
4. Final Interview
   • Successful candidates from the work test will be invited for a remote interview in September 2025.
5. Final Decision
   • Final decisions will be communicated to candidates in October 2025.
